The story of his conversion from an abortionist to right-to-life activist has educated and motivated audiences worldwide. WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY

The faithful of the Diocese of Scranton are invited to St. Peter’s Cathedral, Scranton, on Friday, January 24th at 12:10PM for An Ecumenical Celebration of God’s Word. The Most Reverend Joseph C. Clergy and representatives from various Christian traditions and ecumenical agencies will be present. Liturgical music will be provided by students from All Saints Academy, Scranton. The public is cordially invited to attend. The service will be aired on Catholic Television (C-TV). For more information and resources for the 2014 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, visit the Graymoor Ecumenical and Interreligious Institute at: www.geii.org. “Has Christ Been Divided?” (cf. 1 Corinthians 1:13) is the theme for the 2014 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (January 18-25). Saint Paul challenged the Christians in Corinth to know in their hearts and to show in their actions that Christ has not been divided. He challenges us, too, to realize more fully the unity we already have in Christ. In his First Letter to the Corinthians, Paul also points us to explore ways in which we can value and receive the gifts of others even now in the midst of our divisions, and is an encouragement to us to persevere in our work for unity. Begun in 1908, these days have been set aside each year so that Christians the world over may share the prayer of Jesus: "that all may be one... that the world may believe" (John 17:21).
