In with the New Year The “new” in “Happy New Year” has much meaning this January! In addi- tion to the list of new products/services RSES has rolled out (see pg. 4 of the December 2012 RSES Journal for a brief rundown), RSES Journal also has a few new items to share with you. Although briefly stated in last month’s Headquarters News, the January 2013 issue features the first of several new columnists to be featured throughout the year. 2012-2013 International RSES President Mike Eckstein, CM, lends his perspective on pg. 4, and has invited RSES Members to reach out to him with any Society- or industry-related questions. These questions and his answers will be included in the future columns he pens. Also in the January issue, ASHRAE President Tom Watson discusses where he thinks we are heading as an industry in Capitol Climate. The tentative sched- ule for the next few months will include columns from: ACCA VP of Government Relations Charlie McCrudden (sched- uled for February 2013); Jon Melchi, Director of Government Affairs, HARDI (scheduled for March 2013); and Dr. Gerry Kennedy, Executive Vice Presi- dent, PHCC (scheduled for April 2013). RSES Journal has also released an updated electronic reader service card. Each month, all of the HVACR products mentioned in the publication listed with a reader service number—from ads to product write-ups—are delivered in an easy-to-read electronic newsletter di- rectly to readers’ inboxes. The new tem- plate better reflects today’s RSES Jour- nal, while still providing the same great information. If you are not subscribed to receive this eNewsletter, simply log into the RSES website and select the link directly below the welcome screen that says “Update My Info,” scroll down to “Marketing Preferences” and select the “Product Updates” box and then “Save.” Lastly, RSES Journal will be presenting its Annual Readers’ Choice Awards during the AHR Expo in Dallas, TX, Jan. 28–30. Winners of these awards received the highest overall number of reader inquiries submitted using the reader service card included with each issue and electronically via the electron- ic reader service card. A list of the 2012 winners will be published in the March 2013 issue of RSES Journal. If you happen to be at the 2013 AHR Expo, be sure to drop by booth No. 588!
