As we come to the end of 2012 and the beginning of a new year we have a very busy month ahead. Last month, our second annual Holiday Program was a great success and we also had a visit from Santa. As we enter the new year it is time to be reaccredited with our participation in the state’s Step Up to Quality Program so we will be busy preparing for that. We also were reaccredited at the end of 2012 for another year through the National Association of the Education of Young Children. This is a great accomplishment and we are very proud of our staff for maintaining quality to be able to keep participating in such programs that help us stand out among other centers. Giraffe Whistles:

Wow! Preparing for the holidays has definitely kept us busy. The

children worked so hard practicing our holiday songs and could

hardly wait for the big performance. I was so proud on the night of

the big event not only about their great performance but also for the

terrific turnout. It truly was a magical night. We also found

ourselves very busy working on our gifts for our parents and

grandfriends, making cookies for Santa, and of course we could not

forget the reindeer. I was sorry I missed the train exhibit at the

library but heard it was very enjoyable. Julie stated that the children

really enjoyed the hands-on experience as they got to blow the horn

and push buttons to unload the train cars.

After yesterday’s big storm it appears that winter has finally made

its presence known. Please bring winter outdoor gear for your child

as we like to continue our outdoor time. Also please check your

child’s box to make sure they have an extra change of clothing if

they should get wet.

Julie and I would like to wish you a very Happy and Healthy New

Year. Karen & Julie

We have had a super busy year! Robin, Jenn, and I cannot

even begin to tell you how proud we are of our Birds! They did a

phenomenal job at our Holiday performance. They worked so hard

and it truly showed on stage! Bravo!

We also worked very hard on Parent gifts as well as gifts for

our Grandfriends. Between making presents, making cookies, and

making reindeer food…we were busy! Santa came to visit and the

children loved sitting on his lap and telling him what they wished for

on Christmas morning. This month, we are going to start talking about

winter and polar animals. With that said, don’t forget to bring in

winter gear for your child as we will be going outside to play in the

snow. I will try to send out e-mails to notify you of the days we are

planning on going but to be safe make sure to bring winter gear now.

Robin has flown off to Florida for the winter but not to

worry, she will be back this spring. Safe travels, Robin! We will miss

you! Robin, Jenn, and I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Have a great month!

Sara, Robin, and Jenn
