January 2017
Blessings,
More Than Nets Offering: January 15, 2017, we will take up an offering for any who would like to
support this life saving, soul saving, and church planting ministry. Below is some information about how funds are used and the work that has been done and still needs doing.
There are approximately 454 communities in the Yendi province of Ghana. 145 of those already have a church. Our goal is to assist the Ghana Baptist Convention, under the leadership of church planter Emmanuel “Moose” Mustapha, in planting 309 churches in the remaining villages.
The BGAV suggests giving based on “units” for this project. A unit costs $10 and consists of: $6 = 1 mosquito net $1 = Transportation $2 = Education $1 = Church Planting Our goal is to raise $1 million in 2 years. This will purchase 100,000 nets, teach residents how to use them, and plant over 300 churches.
To the Utter Most: One of the last things that Jesus commanded his followers to do was to share the
Good News, or the Gospel, with all the world. This is a commitment that his disciples took very seriously. They dedicated their lives to teaching people about the saving power
of Christ. Providence has always shared and will continue to share the Gospel in its community, the surrounding areas, the state, and around the world. We have done this by supporting those who are going and by going ourselves. As many of you know,
Providence is about to send 5 more missionaries from our membership to Ghana, Africa for 10 days from January 29 - February 8, 2017. As we prepare to go, we know that we
could not do it without the prayers, support, and love of our church family. With that in mind, please be in prayer daily for our team. Below is a list of prayer requests that I want to ask everyone to pray for each day while we are gone.
An openness to the Gospel for those we minister to
Wisdom and boldness as we go For God's direction and provision
A continued reminder that God is in control Travel safety Patience for the team

FROM THE WMU
The WMU will be
collecting children’s undies starting on January 1 through
March 26. Donations can be placed in the Library.
Focus on WMU week February 12-19 Associational WMU Director Norma Puckett will visit our church and speak during worship on February 12 about the WMU and its
many missions and projects.
Happy 2017!! Wow, another year has gone by ever so quickly. It just seems that the older we get, the faster time goes by. The JOY Group has had a won-derful time over the past few months going to an orchard and various restaurants, having times of wonderful fellowship. Beginning the New Year, we are going to be taking a break in Janu-ary, mostly because the weather is so unpredictable, it is hard to sched-ule an event. But we will pick up in February, which also is an unpredict-able weather month. We will have a simple soup and dessert luncheon at the church. That is easily postponed if the weather should turn on us. That date will be February 15. More information will follow in next month’s newsletter. I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and pray good blessings for 2017 for all. Working till Christ Returns,
Sally
