New Series
Fully You!
God says we have a new identity in Christ. But shaking off habits and mindsets ingrained in our human identity can be hard. This series will help us recognize some shame based patterns of living that keep us from walking in who Christ says we are. "If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Happy New Year!!!
Before moving forward with the freshness and hope in the New Year ahead of us, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the advent season just finished. It was a wonderful season of anticipation and preparation within our church family. A special thank you to all in the congregation who participated in and organized our December 15, 2019 Intergenerational Service-God Made a Way in a Manger!
It was also an opportunity to reach out to our community. Pastor Keith shared the Christmas Eve message of love and hope with many and helped us all to remember that it is not necessarily the “most wonderful time of the year” for everyone but that the love and grace of the newborn Saviour is here for us all!
Welcome to 2020! It is at this time of year that we reflect over the past year and look forward to the excitement of what the New Year will bring! A New Year provides each of us with the opportunity to look back over the past year and assess our disappointments and successes. We then have a chance to set new goals and establish a new direction for the year ahead.
We have so much to celebrate together in our church family! As we support one another through our joy and grief, we remain optimistic about not only the New Year but a new decade! A new decade inspires a sense of new beginnings, change and movement forward!
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19
When we consider time we think of the past, the present, and the future. When God looks at us, he does not view all our past mistakes and failures, but rather looks at where we are now in the present, and where we hope to go in the future. In this New Year, I hope that you are all filled with optimism and excitement for the future of our congregation! An opportunity for new beginnings, change and movement forward!
May all the blessing of the Lord be yours in abundance in the New Year.
Respectfully submitted,
Angela Norman, Chair First Lutheran Church Board of Directors
