IKSDP-Theater. Today at the Social Hall of the IKSDP Centre in Nyandiwa, a series of theatrical performances are underway for the students of the secondary schools of the Gwassi Division. A lot of participation that rewards the skill of the artists.
IKSDP-Farm. Sunflower oil and soap IKSDP 2020. Some examples of the new production line of oil from sunflower seeds and soap to jatropha oil grown on our plantation in Kitawa. Since 2015 we have a machine for squeezing seeds that allows the production of both edible oil, with sunflower seeds, and fuel, with jatropha seeds.
The Nyandiwa "IKSDP Nyamgondho Mini Park" artistic and cultural park, damaged by the heavy rains of the past few months, has been restored and is more beautiful than before with the addition of an Art Gallery with works by local artists. We invite everyone to visit it as soon as possible.

Jacob and Tobias are the authors of this African fish eagle made with scraps of sheet metal and other recycled metal. The African fish eagle belongs to the rich fauna that populates the Nyandiwa area and Lake Victoria.
We are preparing to best welcome our guests who we hope will be numerous after the pandemic. The IKSDP Hostel with 10 rooms for groups, families and individuals, has a large hall-canteen: open all year, it hosts volunteers and visitors who wish to experience 'solidarity tourism'. All structures and services self-finance IKSDP projects. It has 20 beds in single, double and triple rooms. Margaret's carpets. At “Ka scout” (scout house), the IKSDP Centre in Nyandiwa, the current limitations of the usual activities due to Covid-19, leave more time available for other activities. One of these is craftsmanship. Margaret makes rugs using synthetic wool and recycled sacks.
The new garden of the IKSDP Centre in Nyandiwa for the experimentation of local vegetable crops with the use of jatropha expeller as fertilizer. In this first phase, osuga, sukuma, boo, dek are grown. The activity is carried out in collaboration with the Nature, Energy, Territory (NET) technological innovation pole.
This week IKSDP-Teachers Training College in Nyandiwa reopened after seven months of closure due to the pandemic. Final exams will be held between the end of November and the beginning of December for the second year students. Good luck!

"Working together for a concrete and sustainable development"
The IKSDP project aims at enhancing and exploiting the local natural and renewable resources more and more: in the naturalistic site of Kitawa (17 hectares of arid land, now irrigated) a part of the land is cultivated, while another area is reserved for research, given the richness of the ecosystem. From this year we have faced, together with the authorities and local communities, the environmental and social challenges, within the objectives of the Agenda 2030 of the UN-Sustainable Development Goals-SDGs (Framework Agreement signed in September 2019 at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria).
Another important step forward: from last year a "Water Bus" service connects Nyandiwa with Sori, Mbita and all the main Kenyan islands of Lake Victoria (Mfangano, Kiwa, Remba).
