He is the God of perfect jus�ce and righteousness. He is also the God of next chances. 2012 is gone. It can never be changed. There were many hardships that you endured…that our church endured. Time and �me again, I was con�nually in worship over the graciousness of God to step into our lives in very real ways. 2013 is here. God hasn’t changed. My hope is that this is my best year following Jesus ever. That when I look at the end of this year I have grown closer to Jesus in trust and love; deeper with Jesus in knowledge of Word and walking in His way; and more like Jesus in my rela�onships with others. We live out our commitment to hear Jesus’ words and do them! Let’s grow together. Let’s be more like Jesus together. Step into the New Year! Come what may, we serve a great God! Gideons InternationalMike and Lesley Steenbergen - Anaheim
The Gideons International is an Association of Christian business and professional men, banded together (since 1899) in more than 190 countries for fellowship and service. The purpose of the Association is the promotion of the Gospel of Christ to all people, to the end that they might come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Mike & Lesley Steenbergen joined the Gideon ministry in 2005 and actively participate in distributing God’s Word to schools, hotels, medical offices, and hospitals. Churches are invited to become involved through offerings that are solely used to purchase Scriptures for distribution all over the world.
There are 2 events in January to pray for: the State Cabinet meetings are Jan. 18-19 (they meet 3 times a year) and there is an Auxiliary Enrichment Seminar & Luncheon (the last of 9) that meets in Honolulu, Hawaii, on January 26th. Generally speaking, we always have 3 permanent prayer requests: 1) Deepening the spiritual walk of the Gideon/Auxiliary membership, 2) Salvation of souls from personal witnessing & Scriptures distributed, 3) More funds to supply more Scriptures for the world.
Magnolia Team Headed to NicaraguaThree MBC members will be joining forces with others from sister church, The Beacon, in Orange, and a group from Indiana to reprise a medical ministry effort launched last April in Masatepe, Nicaragua. The team will have several doctors and nurses. Last time around over 400 locals were seen and a dentist also donated time to the mission.
The Southland part of the team consists of Denise Mitchell, Brenda Wylde, Corey Wylde, Cassie Favello, Dirk DeWolfe, Teresa DeWolfe, Dr. John Vaughan, Dr. Karen Vaughan (Corey’s cousin) and Rolando Mendoza. Please start praying now for the team and their January 19-26 trip. We will be providing a short list of items that can be hauled to Nicaragua. Denise has already been collecting reading glasses to take. If you are interested in donating items, see Denise Mitchell or Corey Wylde.
