It has been a great experience for me to spend this three years here in Bhutan. Although I was little nervous to work at JICA overseas office for the first time as an inexperienced volunteer coordinator but, all the office staffs and families made me feel so comfortable in an instant. Because of my dear colleagues, I could come this far. I would really like to thank all the JICA Bhutan office personals.

I would also like to thank our volunteers for their existence and untiring effort to make this country better. Without their appearance, I wouldn’t be here for sure. I believe that their continuous approach to the people will pay off in many ways some day.

Lastly, I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart to all the Bhutanese people for accepting me to be in such a beautiful country, Bhutan. Your warmth, kindness, generosity, and a shy smile has made me feel really at home. I have never felt uneasiness like I felt in other countries I visited before.

I don’t know what kind of future is waiting for me, but I am sure that one day I will come back to see all my friends here again...

On 11th August, 2015, Mr. Hirofumi Kudo joined JICA Bhutan Office as a Volunteer Coordinator.

He joined Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in 1999 as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) where he was placed in Malaysia for two years. He also worked as a Senior Volunteer (SV) for two years in Samoa in 2005 and later served as a Volunteer Coordinator in JICA offices of Uganda and Micronesia.

JICA Bhutan Office is very fortunate and happy to have Mr. Kudo to contribute to JICA in its development efforts. We express our warm welcome to him in the JICA family and look forward to working with him.
