Sniffen, DO, FACOI, FACP, FIDSA ABOUT THE DOCTOR: Dr. Sniffen has practiced infec- tious disease medicine in the Orlando area since 2001. He is the current President of Infectious Disease Con- sultants, one of the busiest infectious disease practices in the United States. After completing his fellowship training in infectious diseases at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Dr. Sniffen relo- cated to Orlando but continues to work as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the USF school. Additionally, he regularly teaches medical residents from the Florida Hospital healthcare system’s many training programs and medi- cal students from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Sniffen is Board Certified in Infectious Diseases, Inter- nal Medicine and is the first DO internist in the country to receive board certification from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society. PROFESSIONAL MEM- BERSHIPS/AFFILIATIONS: Dr. Sniffen is Medical Direc- tor of the Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care Center and Chair of ID for the Florida Hospital system. He is past Chief of Staff and current Chief Medical Adviser at Florida Hospital East Orlando. He is immediate past chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee for the Florida Hospital system and continues to partici- pate in the ID Expert Section of the Committee as well as the Antibiotic Stewardship Committee. Dr. Sniffen is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Ameri- can College of Osteopathic Internists and has earned the prestigious title of “Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America, (FIDSA).” AWARDS/HONORS: Dr. Sniffen has been repeatedly named to the “Finest Doc- tors in Orlando’’ in Orlando magazine. At the national level, he is past chairman of the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) and past chairman of the ID Section of the board, a position he held for 11 years and continues to serve as an adviser. On a local and national level, Dr. Sniffen has dozens of publica- tions to his credit in medical journals, textbooks and on-line. He has received multiple awards of excellence in medicine during his career and recently was a gradu- ate of the Inaugural Physician Leadership Program at Florida Hospital.
