In conjunction with the Georgetown Festival 2010,the Photographic Society of Penang (PSP) is proudto present a photography contest dedicated to allaspiring photographers in Malaysia and designedto inspire all fellow Malaysians and foreigners.

����Terms and Conditions:

1. The photography contest is open to all;2. The photography contest theme is: -

“Peranakan Penang” - Photographs featuring from a spectrum of Jawi Peranakan and Nyonya Peranakan culture will beaccepted, eg. people, buildings, activities, objects, crafts, etc. All photos must be taken in the State of Penang only;

3. The photo contest begins on 16th June 2010 and ends on the 10th July 2010;4. A total of 12 winners will be selected (3 main prizes and 9 consolation prizes);5. All entries submitted must be in the following form:

I) Photograph size: 8” x 12” without mounting; ii) For Penang participants, you are required to print out all participating photographs at any Foto President

Outlets (a special rate of RM2 per print is offered to all participants );iii) Soft copy in CD- JPEG format with at least 5.0 MB at 300 dpi;iv) All files in soft copy must be named as: participant name_number, eg. JohnPillai_01.jpg, JohnPillai_02.jpg and so on;

6. Minor image touch-up is permitted and these include adjustment to brightness, curve, contrast, levels, colour andsharpening of the image;sharpening of the image;

7. Images imposed digitally, photo montages, photo merge, and image manipulation will be disqualified; 8. Participants may submit as many entries as they wish; 9. Photographs submitted by participants must be entirely their own work. Usage of third party/parties creative works are

prohibited, in which their entry will be automatically disqualified;10. If the submitted photo includes one or more persons that are recognizable, consent must be given for the photograph to be

used.;11. All submission is non-returnable and the submission of an entry constitutes consent and agreement by the participants and

any person that is recognizable from the photo(s) that all the photos are owned by the Photographic Society of Penangany person that is recognizable from the photo(s) that all the photos are owned by the Photographic Society of Penang(PSP) and/or George Town World Heritage Incorporated. Participants and any person that is recognizable from the photo(s)irrevocably and unconditionally grant the right to PSP and/or George Town World Heritage Incorporated and/or GeorgeTown Festival to use/publish/reproduce/exhibit the photographs submitted by them for any PSP and/or George Town WorldHeritage Incorporated and/or George Town Festival events and communication material without any priornotification or payment made to the participants and any person that is recognizable from the photo(s);

12. Images submitted must not have won any awards, published previously or owned by any other parties;13. With the entry submission, participants hereby agree to indemnify the George Town World Heritage Incorporated, the

15. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt;16. The organiser reserves the right to disqualify any entry not following or abiding by the terms and conditions of the above;17. 19.
