“Tiny drops of experiencescollated from the roof of
our journeys in life becomes the ocean upon which we sail
to greatness”
Ikechukwu Izuakor
We are at our very best, and we are happiest, whenwe are fully engaged inwork we enjoy on the
journey toward the goalwe've established for ourselves. It gives
meaning to our time off and comfort to our
sleep. It makes everything else in life so wonderful, so worthwhile.
Earl Nightingale
I've learned that fear limits youand your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is
valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can
empower you to walk down an even brighter path.Transforming fear into
freedom – how great is that?
Soledad O'Brien
“You gain strength,courage and
confidence by everyexperience in whichyou really stop to lookfear in the face. You areable to say to yourself,‘I have lived throughthis horror. I can takethe next thing that
comes along.’ You mustdo the thing you think
you cannot do.”
Eleanor Roosevelt

The Legislature of Rockland County
ALDEN H. WOLFE
Chairman
October 26, 2014
Dear Friends:
It is my deep honor to recognize and join with all present this evening in celebration of
Jawonio’s mission of advancing the “independence, well-being and equality of people with disabilities
or special needs”.
Since 1965, the Jawonio Dinner Dance has served as an occasion for the community to come
together to honor and thank individuals and businesses who provide extraordinary contributions to the
people we serve.
This year’s honorees - Orangetown Jewish Center (OJC) Youth Group and Mindworks
Charitable Lead Trust – are committed to Jawonio’s mission through their compassion, dedication and
service. As Chairman of the Legislature, I too, on behalf of the entire Legislature, join with all of you
in thanking them for their tireless efforts and remarkable accomplishments.
Very truly yours,
Alden H. Wolfe Chairman of the Legislature
