In the spring of 2007, The Los Angeles Jazz Institute produced an unprecedented Big Band Jazz Festival that featured 24 Big Bands spread throughout the four day event. So much excitement was generated by the big band format that we’ve decided to feature 21 big bands, all different than those featured at Swing into Spring.
There are an abundance of highlights throughout the upcoming festival including a long overdue tribute to Bill Holman. Friday, October 5 is “Bill Holman Day” and will feature a variety of concerts dedicated to this living legend.
We’ve also created another VIP bonus package that will feature prime seating for the entire event as well as the special VIP party featuring a Buddy Rich Alumni Band directed by Bobby Shew.
It’s a rare opportunity to see and hear an-other unprecedented array of big bands all at one festival and I hope you will be able to join us for this incredible event.
