REQUIREMENTS ANDAPICS CPIM CERTIFICATIONS

In addition to the instructor-led review, participants will be provided the APICS CPIM learning kit which is a complete, easy-to-use learning and course reference tool.

To achieve the APICS certification, candidates must pass two APICS CPIM module exams:

COURSE OVERVIEWThe APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) instructor-led training course is a comprehensive professional development and certification preparation training program. CPIM consist of two separate courses: Part 1: provides an introduction and overview of the basics of supply chain management; and, Part 2: provides additional instruction on the priority planning at the tactical and operational levels, inventory control and introduces strategic planning. To obtain the CPIM certification, participants must successful pass two exams, one for each of the two parts.

While the primary purpose of the course is to prepare supply chain managers for obtaining the APICS CPIM certification, those that do not desire to obtain the designation would benefit by attending CPIM Part 1, so as to obtain a basic knowledge of supply chain management.

MASTER PLANNING OF RESOURCESThis section includes principles and techniques of de-mand management, sales and operations planning, mas-ter scheduling, and distribution planning. It includes:

» Demand Management: Strategic and business plan-ning is closely related to the management of de-mand, including forecasting and managing the cus-tomer interface.

» Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP): Sales and op-erations planning (S&OP) concepts and techniques are used to link strategic goals to operations and coordinate the various planning efforts of the func-tional areas, including operations, sales, sourcing, product development, marketing, and finance in a variety of business environments.

» Master Scheduling: Master scheduling is the process of translating higher-level aggregate plans into feasible schedules that operations and suppliers can execute.

» Planning Material Requirements to Support the Master Schedule: Planning material requirements driven by the master production schedule (MPS), in-cluding material requirements planning (MRP), deals with dependent demand parts and interrelation-ships that require planning at any given time. It also includes independent demand planning for service parts, matching supply with demand, and managing demand at aggregate and disaggregate levels.

» Planning Operations to Support the Priority Plan: Capacity management encompasses planning, es-tablishing, measuring, monitoring, and adjusting lev-els of capacity to execute the master schedule and related materials plan. It addresses the balancing of the material plans with available internal and exter-nal resources and supporting activities, including constraint management, line and flow balancing, and variability and capacity in a transient state.

EXECUTION AND CONTROL OF OPERATIONS

This section encompasses the principles and techniques necessary to execute, control, and manage operations, and participate in design decisions. Andm, includes the following subject area:

» Execution of Operations: The execution of operations includes understanding the scheduling processes that translate plans into operational activities. This in-cludes applying methods of authorizing and releasing work, and the management of resources required to accomplish the work. All execution activities rely on an understanding of the decisions made about the or-ganizational environment, strategies, and objectives.

» Control of Operations: Control of operations encom-passes the ongoing review and management of opera-tional results in comparison to the established near-term plan, followed by analysis and application of any correc-tive action required to align performance with the plan. Control includes the principles and techniques to accom-plish the plan using both internal and external resources.

» Quality, Communication, and Continuous Improvement: Management defines the quality and continuous im-provement goals of the organization, and uses meaningful communication techniques to educate others and bring about those goals.

STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES

This section includes higher-level thinking on strategic planning and implementation of operations. This re-quires an understanding of how market requirements and strategic position of the organization drive the re-sources and processes of an organization. This section includes the following:

DETAILED SCHEDULING AND PLANNING

This section includes principles and techniques of in-ventory management, material requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, and procurement and supplier planning. Recognizing the importance of supply chain management, this subject area also covers deploy-ment of supply chain strategies related to scheduling, planning, and sourcing. This section includes:

» Inventory Management: Inventory management prin-ciples, policies, and techniques impact many other de-cisions throughout the organization, including stocking levels, order quantities, safety stocks, handling and storage requirements, and financial management.

The operations strategy development process must capture and assim-ilate that information to provide context for alignment with corporate strategy. Corporate strategy develop-ment must consider business environmental factors.

» Developing the Operations Strategy: The opera-tions strategy development process must align with the business strategy and reflect the analysis of the business environment. This includes the processes of identifying, evaluating, and choosing among alterna-tives in the context of the business strategy, and un-derstanding the significance of the various factors in developing the operations strategy.

» Implementing the Operations Strategy: Various stra-tegic leadership activities, leadership roles, and re-sponsibilities are necessary for the successful imple-mentation of the operations strategy.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Payment Terms for LEORON Professional Development Institute (hereafter LEORON PDI)a. 100% payment of the amount in maximum 15 days upon the receipt of the invoice. b. The payment shall be conducted either in cash, credit/debit card, cheque or bank transfer. c. The stated amount is exclusive of Withholding Tax and other duties, taxes and transfer related charges which if

applicable are payable by the client in addition to the stated amount.2. Cancelation and Postponement Policy

a. All cancelations and postponements shall be done in written form.b. In case of client cancelation:

i. No cancelation fee if the cancelation takes place not less than 14 days prior to the beginning of the course,ii. 50% cancelation fee if the cancelation takes place between 7 days and 14 days prior to the beginning of the course,iii. 100% cancelation fee if the cancelation takes place less than 7 days prior to the beginning of the course,

c. In case of client postponement, i. LEORON PDI issues a credit note which states that the paid amount can be used for participation in any of the

company’s courses which are scheduled in a period of 12 months from the date of the credit note.ii. A 25% postponement fee if the postponement takes place less than 10 days prior to the beginning of the course

d. In case of LEORON PDI cancelation:i. A 100% refund shall be applicable if LEORON PDI decides to cancel the event - the client has an option to receive

a credit note which can be used for any course for a period of 12 months.ii. In case of LEORON PDI postponement - the client may choose to participate on the same course at the later date or

to be issued a credit note which states that the paid amount can be used for participation of any of the company’s courses which are scheduled in a period of 12 months from the date of the credit note.

3. Selection of Trainer and LocationSelection of the trainer and training location shall be at the discretion of LEORON PDI. Every effort shall be made to maintain continuity, but, if necessary, LEORON PDI can change the trainer and training location any time prior to commencement of the course.

4. Intellectual PropertyThe copyright, intellectual property and design rights of the learning materials are property of LEORON PDI and its expert trainers. It cannot be copied, shared or reproduced without prior written consent of LEORON PDI.

5. Health and SafetyThe clients must conform to and comply with the Health and Safety Policy and Procedures as laid down by LEORON PDI or its partner organizations when the course is delivered in leased premises. Breaches of these policies and procedures may result with the client being suspended or excluded from the course and premises.

6. Complaints and Refunds Procedurea. LEORON PDI shall deem relevant the following types of complaints:

i. If the contents of a course or the training materials are incorrect or inappropriate.ii. If the duration of the course is significantly different to that invoiced.iii. If the conduct or actions by the LEORON PDI trainer are inappropriate or offensive.iv. If the training delivery is not on a satisfactory level

b. Enquiries and complaints shall be made in written form and have to contain sufficient detail to allow LEORON PDI to compile an official written response.

c. All official enquiries and complaints shall be submitted electronically to Val Jusufi, Managing Director of LEORON PDI, at [email protected]

d. LEORON PDI shall officially respond to the complaint no later than 7 days from the date of its reception.7. Force Majeure

LEORON PDI shall not be liable to the clients or be deemed to be in breach of any agreement it has concluded with them for any delay in performing or failure to perform any of the LEORON PDI’s obligations in respect of the services if the delay or failure was due to any cause such as war, warlike activities, fire, storm, explosion, national emergency, labor dispute, strike, lock-out, civil disturbance, actual or threatened violence by any terrorist group, newly enacted law or regulation or any other cause not within the control of LEORON PDI.

8. Governing LawThis contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Laws and Regulations of the DMC-CA Authority in Dubai, UAE.
