THIS Sunday, May 7, 2017
The purpose of this day is to publically fulfill the Lord’s instruction to, “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest” Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2. Please pray that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord’s call to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, societies of apostolic life or secular institutes.
O God, Who wish all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge of Your truth: send, we beg You, laborers into Your harvest,
and grant them grace to speak Your word with all boldness;
so that Your word may spread and be glorified, and all nations may know You, the only God,
and Him Whom You have sent, Jesus Christ Your Son, Our Lord,
Who lives and reigns, world without end.
Amen.
NEXT weekend we celebrate with our parish children as they receive Jesus for the first time in Holy Communion.
Let us keep these children in our prayers as they complete their journey to the Eucharistic table.
May they grow in faith and love, with the knowledge that God is the source of all goodness and blessings!

Do you have a talent in any of the following areas: singing, dancing, poetry, writing, drawing, public speaking, pho-tography, musical instruments, etc.

The clearer the voice calling you, the easier it is to recognize who it is on the other end of the call. How clearly can you hear the voice of Jesus Christ? In John’s Gospel, Jesus speaks of the gatekeeper who opens the gate and calls for his sheep. They respond because they know his voice. Others try to lure the sheep when the gatekeeper is not there, but the sheep find their voices unclear or unfamiliar.
Jesus is our gatekeeper, but to be able to hear his voice we
need to pay attention and practice listening. By developing a stewardship way of life that is mindful and prayerful, we become attuned
to his voice and are able to discern when the call is from our Lord and when it is from an imposter. It is great to talk about all the things we can do and all the gifts we can share, but
if are not listening for his call to hear where our offerings are needed, we can end up like a lost sheep searching for the gatekeeper.

Non-Event Fundraiser Once again we are kicking off our Non-Event Fundraiser which has been successful in the past, thanks to people like you!
We are reaching out to our Parishioners, especially those who don’t use envelopes
on a regular basis, to ask for your help to close our budget shortfall for our fiscal year which ends Friday, June 30, 2017. If you can please find it in your heart to help us in this campaign, we would greatly appreciate your help. Your donation will help us with our day-to-day operating expenses. The nice thing about this concept is that there are no tickets to sell, meetings to attend, or events for which to volunteer.
Bronze $1 to $99; Silver $100 to $499; Gold $500 to $999; Platinum $1,000 and up
Thank you in advance for consider ing this gift and if you cannot help us financially, we would greatly appreciate your prayers for our parish community.
