Q: can you tell me a little about this small moment and about the interview?
Q: can you tell me some details about this?
Q: I don’t really get what you were doing at the time, can you explain it to me again?
Interview Q&A’s
“I love working for Dr. Oz, there’s always something to talk about with him,” remarked Dr. Oz’s driver as we drove to the radio station. I sat in the back with my business partners, Bobby and David Lynch. Dr. Oz and David were about to have a live interview on Oz’s radio channel. 8 `
“My father worked for Dr. Oz’s father and after my father retired, I took over and started driving Dr. Oz. He is a very social person.” He said with a chuckle and a big grin. We pulled into the parking lot of the radio station’s building. I got out of the car and we all walked into the lobby. A woman who looked in her late thirties greeted us.
“You must be David! And these must be your assistants. I’m Lisa, Dr. Oz’s wife! Its very nice to meet you.” Lisa said in a very calm and friendly voice.
“It’s very nice to meet you Lisa. These two are my assistances, Christen and Bobby.” David beamed.
Lisa escorted us up to the sound booth, where Dr. Oz was waiting. When we walked in, I noticed that there were two teenage girls there as well. Lisa introduced them as Daphne and Arabella, 2 of Dr. Oz’s 4 children. Daphne looked to be about 16-‐18 years old, and Arabella who looked younger than Daphne. “Hey guys, I’m so happy that you made it! Like my wife said, these are my 2 daughters who will be sitting in the interview with us today. I’m Dr. Oz but you can just call me Mehmet!” right away I realized that the driver was right, Dr. Oz was very friendly and social.
I took a seat next to Daphne and across from Bobby. While Mehmet and David got set up and ran over the questions, the rest of us chatted and introduced our self’s. I found out that Daphne was about to graduate from high school of to study at Princeton and then get her degree in North Eastern Studies.
“Okay guys, I think we are just about ready to start the interview,” Mehmet announced. We all took our seats and quieted down.
“We’re on in 3…2…1… and we’re live!” Said the sound booth man sitting outside of the booth. “Good morning New York!!! And I am Dr. Oz! Today I sit here with David Lynch, the founder of David Lynch foundation and a Grammy award winning director of many movies.”
Historical Narrative
“Thanks Mehmet, I am very happy to be here today!”
“So David would you mind telling us a little bit about what your foundation is, and what it’s all about?”
“Well, my foundation is based on world peace. It is usually held in places with poverty. It focuses in 6 categories: schools, military, women, Native Americans, homeless shelters, and Prisons. Each session is for 20 minutes, 2 times a day. It is meant to help relax and eliminate stress.”
“I just love to hear about people doing things not just for themselves but for others, so I _ind what you do very inspiring. Can you tell us about some of the movies you have written an directed?” “I would love to! Well, I went to the Pennsylvania academy of _ine arts in Philadelphia. Then I went to the branch in Boston, so that’s where I learned a lot about directing and also writing. I guess I have loved writing since I was a kid.” David said with a chuckle.
They talked for a while and the whole time I was thinking what a great experience this was and how much I had learned. I had learned a lot about David Lynch and his foundation and about Dr. Oz’s family.

1. How has working on this project helped you learn about your family’s history and given you a better sense of your identity?
Since we had to contact some of our family members and find out 3 important/ historic memories from when they were younger, we were able to learn a lot about our family.
2. Why do you think doing a project like this is important?
I think it’s important because since we live over seas we don’t really have the opportunity to talk with our family very much, so this project has helped us learn and talk more to our family.
3. What part of this project did you enjoy the most? Why?
I enjoyed being able to talk to my family because usually I don’t have much time to talk to family between homework and sports so since this was homework it gave me a opportunity to call family.
4. What specific challenges did you face during this project and how did you over come them?
I think the hardest part was trying to get a hold of family, because of the time differences so either we had to call really early in the morning or pretty late at night.
5. What advice would you give future students as they begin this project?
Make sure you get a head start on the project because if you have any questions you can always call back to ask them, but if you save it till the last minute you might not have another chance to contact them.
