I strive to agree with Jesus Christ in all things, because He loved me and sufferedthe punishment of my sins. It is possible that I have been mistaken in some matters. However I trust that He will correct me, if I have misunderstood something. I love His

reprimand and His comfort because without them I cannot remain in truth. Thus, if thereis something wrong in these writings it is the fault of Erkki Kuisma. Jesus deserves thecredit for everything that is right.

Jesus Christ and Muslims

Issued 11.02.2001

IslamIn this world Muslims usually are not Muslims and Christiansusually are not Christians. It is in this way because those who bearthe name of a Muslim have not totally submitted themselves toGod and those who bear the name of a Christian don't totally obeyJesus Christ. They are not what their names say, but God is. He canchange Muslims and Christians so that they are what their namessay by allowing them to know God. Jesus Messiah has come forknowing God. He is the exact representation of God's being. Youcan totally submit yourself to God only through Jesus Messiah.

True believerAccording to the Quran an Islamite means a person who has totallysubmitted himself to God. Islam means submitting. An Islamite isthe same as a submitter. So do not look at Islam as a religion and as ahuman organization, but see its real content: Submitting totally to God'swill.

Christianity means the doctrine of Jesus Christ. A Christian is a personwho lives for Jesus. So do not look at Christianity as a religion and ahuman organization, but see its real content: Jesus Messiah is the Savior.

Islamic and Christian faithThe Quran says: "The only religion approved by God is Submission( = Islam )." Quran 3:19 The Quran stresses that the submission is the basefor the whole relationship with God. "Anyone who accepts other thanSubmission (= Islam ) as his religion, it will not be accepted from him,and in the Hereafter, he will be with the losers." Quran 3:85 So what is itthat saves? Is it totally submitting to God or becoming a member of theIslamic community?

The Bible says: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" Joh.14:6 "Solikewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be mydisciple." Lu.14:33 So what is it that saves? Is it totally submitting to Jesusor becoming a member of the Christian church?

I don't believe that the Quran is from God, but I have submitted myself totally to God through Jesus Messiah. Is it so that I am a Muslim

because I am a submitter? I think that he who calls himself a Muslimconsiders me a disbelieving person. I answer to him using the words of the Quran: "If they argue with you, then say, 'I have simply submitted myself to God; I and those who follow me." Quran 3:20

Where is the difference between us? Nobody can submit oneself tosomething that one doesn't know. The Islamic nation of the Quran hassubmitted itself to God of Muhammad. The Jesus people of the Biblehave submitted itself to God of Jesus. Whose God is the real One, Jesus'or Muhammad's? Although their testimonies have some common thingsthere is the irreconcilable conflict between them.

Motive of submissionThe motive of submission is important. The Quran's god tries to getpeople to submit themselves with fear of retribution or hope of reward."O you who believe, let Me inform you of a trade that will save you

from painful retribution. Believe in God and His messenger and strivein the cause of God with your money and your lives. This is the best deal for you, if you only knew. In return, He forgives your sins, and admits you into gardens with flowing streams, with beautiful mansionsin the gardens of Eden. This is the greatest triumph." Quran 61:10-12 So the

salvation promised by the Quran is the trade between God and man.The Bible's God tries to get people to submit themselves to the truththat God is righteous and they themselves are sinners. After they haveexperienced God's love in the forgiveness of their sins they submitthemselves to God - through the power of His love.

God has demonstrated His own love for us in Jesus, so that we couldsubmit ourselves to Him. Jesus died on the cross instead of us.

The salvation that the Bible promises is not a trade between God andman, but it is the gift of God. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Eph.2:8-9

The Quran denies the death of Jesus so that you could not experienceGod's love. "They are condemned for disbelieving and uttering about

Mary a gross lie. And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God. In fact, they never killed him, theynever crucified him-they were made to think that they did. All factions

who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, theynever killed him. Instead, God raised him to Him." Quran 4:156-157

Without the Gospel of the death and resurrection of Jesus nobodycan submit oneself to God - by love. On the other hand nobody canunderstand the greatness of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, if he doesn'treceive the fact who Jesus is. The name of God, Most Gracious, MostMerciful is Jesus!

Loving God makes one submit to Him totally. Apostle Paul describes hisexperience of submitting to God as follows: "For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I nowlive in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave

Himself for me." Ga.2:19-20

God's nameOnly one God exists. He is so great that it is obvious that He has manynames. Does it matter what name is used of Him? It depends on whohas given the name. If human beings call God with the names that theythemselves invented, it is objectionable. The name that God Himself uses of Himself is His real name. This should be obvious to all whobelieve in one God.

It is said in the Quran: "God: there is no other god besides Him. To Himbelong the most beautiful names." Quran 20:8 I would expect that the Quranafter the previous verse would tell us one of those names, but it doesn't.This case is odder to me when I notice that the next verse tells aboutMoses, who saw God's fire in the desert. The Bible tells about the sameevent. There it happens that God exposes His name to Moses. The Qurantells also other biblical stories more unclearly than the Bible.

God said to Moses that His name is, "I AM." Ex.3:14 From this namebecomes the name Jahveh or Jehovah or Lord. Jesus Messiah said thatif we don't believe that He is "I AM" Joh.8:24,28 , we will die in our sins. SoJesus Messiah is Lord or Jahveh.

The word allah comes from the Arabic word al-ilah which meansdivinity (ilah = god). So the word Allah has not very personal meaning,

though it is the name of God for the Islamite. If it is compared the names"divinity" and "I am" it is easy to recognize which expresses a person.

Islamism is a religion of an unknown god. Indeed in the header of asura it is said one name for God: "In the name of God, Most Gracious,Most Merciful". The Quran often uses names of God which leave Himdistant, like Omniscient and Omnipotent. They tell something about Hischaracter or His position, but not until in Jesus the person of God, "IAM" comes near us.

If God is only one person, why does He often say in the Quran, "We",when He tells what He has done? For instance: "He said, 'We have put

your people to the test after you left.'" Quran 20:85 So God is also in theQuran at the same time I and We.

Who is a polytheist? In the Quran it is also spoken about Jesus, but it has been done in theway that doesn't give a proper picture of Him. Although the Quranspeaks about Jesus as Messiah, it denies that Jesus is the Son of God:"The Christians said, 'Jesus is the son of God!' These are blasphemiesuttered by their mouths. They thus match the blasphemies of those whohave disbelieved in the past. God condemns them. They have surelydeviated. They have set up their religious leaders and scholars as lords, instead of God. Others deified the Messiah, son of Mary. They were allcommanded to worship only one god." Quran 9:30-31

Jesus says in the Bible: "It is my Father who honors me, of whom you say He is your God." Joh.8:54 Jesus calls God as His Father. He isnot a polytheist, who worships one God as the three persons, but heis a polytheist, who in practice worships many gods. All people arepolytheists, if Jesus has not saved them. God is Omniscient!

I understand the feelings of Muhammad, when he has seen therenounced Christianity, which really worships idols. Many who arecalled Christians honor Jesus only as an idol as they also worship Mary, the Bible or the Church or Pope or money and property or fatherland. Inthe same way many Muslims worship Muhammad, Mecca, the Quran, money and property and their fatherland as idols.

Many who say that they are monotheists are in practice polytheists. Godis the Hearer, the Seer!

Jesus Christ and Muslims

Jesus can save a MuslimIf a Muslim wants to submit himself totally to God, he can experience itonly by turning to the Jesus of the Bible. It is maybe most difficult forhim to admit that the Jesus of the Quran is a lie and a wrong testimony.

Every Muslim can test himself which Jesus is the real one. If he calls onthe Jesus of the Bible he will experience the power of the Holy Spirit inhis life.

When you bow down and worship God, confess your sins against Himand praise Him that He is righteous and good. Say thanks to God thatHe punished Jesus on the cross for the sake of your sins so that youcould get forgiveness and be saved from the Hellfire. Ask God to acceptyou through that sacrifice. Surely your heart will be cleansed, if youapproach God honestly wanting your sins to be washed away. God iswaiting for you that He could give you His gift.

When you have experienced the peace given by Jesus bow downand worship God. Don't bow down towards Mecca neither towardsJerusalem, but towards Jesus Messiah. Submit yourself to Jesus Messiahand say to Him: From now on, in my life, let your will be done and notmine.

If Allah is God, then Jesus Messiah is Allah!

Heaven

The Quran: "As for those who believe and lead a righteous life - wenever burden any soul beyond its means - these will be the dwellers of Paradise. They abide in it forever. We will remove all jealousy fromtheir hearts. Rivers will flow beneath them, and they will say, 'God be

In themiddle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. Theleaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall

be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it,and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His nameshall be on their foreheads." Re.21:27-22:1-4

Muhammad or the apostles of JesusMuhammad disbelieves the two great truths of the Bible's Jesus: Jesusis the Son of God and only His atoning sacrifice opens for us theacceptance of God.

The apostles of Jesus have written for us the teachings of Jesus, whichare conflicting with the teachings of Muhammad. Who tells the truth?Isn't it easier to trust in the apostles who lived together with Jesus thanto trust in Muhammad who lived 600 years later? Either Muhammad liesor the Apostles, but the both cannot be the witnesses of the same God.

If you are a Muslim, I urge you to appeal to Jesus of the Bible. You canget the forgiveness of your sins only from Him, because only He can payto God the wages of your sins. If you hold on to the good and give upthe bad, one day you will confess that Jesus is your Lord.

Muhammad and JohnJohn and Muhammad testify to Jesus. Whose testimony do youbelieve? John was the closest disciple of Jesus and eye-witness of Hisdeath and resurrection. Muhammad lived 600 years after Jesus andgot his Jesus knowledge from the revelation given by an angel.

John against MuhammadI have collected from the Bible and from the Quran a debate between theapostle John and the prophet Muhammad. Let John start.

John"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and theWord was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things weremade through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld Hisglory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." Joh.1:1-3,14

Muhammad"The example of Jesus, as far as GOD is concerned, is the same as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him, "Be," and he was. This is the truth from your Lord; do not harbor any doubts." Quran 3:59-60

John"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which wehave seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our handshave handled, concerning the Word of life. And we know that the Sonof God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know

Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves

from idols." 1Jo.1:1,5:20-21

Muhammad"Pagans indeed are those who say that GOD is the Messiah, the son of

Mary." Quran 5:17

John"Whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victorythat has overcome the world - our faith. Who is he who overcomes theworld, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" 1Jo.5:4-5

Muhammad"The Jews and the Christians said, 'We are GOD's children and Hisbeloved.' Say, "Why then does He punish you for your sins?" Quran 5:18

John"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sinsand cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And if anybody sins, we havean Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins." 1Jo.1:8-9,2:1-2

Muhammad"And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, themessenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him - they were made to think that they did. All factions who aredisputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They

possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him. Instead, GOD raised him to Him." Quran 4:157-158

John"But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, theydid not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with aspear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seenhas testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is tellingthe truth, so that you may believe." Joh.19:33-35

"The Messiah himself said, 'O Children of Israel, you shall worshipGOD; my Lord and your Lord.' Anyone who sets up any idol besideGOD, GOD has forbidden Paradise for him, and his destiny is Hell. Thewicked have no helpers. Pagans indeed are those who say that GOD is athird of a trinity. There is no god except the one god. Unless they refrain

from saying this, those who disbelieve among them will incur a painfulretribution." Quran 5:72-73

John"There are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the threeagree as one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God isgreater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son.

He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he whodoes not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed

the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony;that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He whohas the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not havelife." 1Jo.5:7-12

Muhammad"The Christians said, 'Jesus is the son of GOD!' These are blasphemiesuttered by their mouths. They thus match the blasphemies of those who

have disbelieved in the past. GOD condemns them. They have surelydeviated." Quran 9:30

John"Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ (= Messiah)?

He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Do not believe everyspirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false

prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of

God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ (= Messiah) has comein the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that JesusChrist has come in the flesh is not of God." 1Jo.2:22,4:1-3

Muhammad"O people of the scripture, do not transgress the limits of your religion, and do not say about GOD except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the sonof Mary, was a messenger of GOD, and His word that He had sent to

Mary, and a revelation from Him. Therefore, you shall believe in GODand His messengers. You shall not say, 'Trinity.' You shall refrain fromthis for your own good. GOD is only one god. Be He glorified; He ismuch too glorious to have a son." Quran 4:171

John"Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ (=

Messiah) does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ

has both the Father and the Son." 2Jo.1:9

Muhammad"O you who believe, obey GOD and His messenger, and do not disregard him while you hear. This Quran could not possibly beauthored by other than GOD. It confirms all previous messages, and

provides a fully detailed scripture. It is infallible, for it comes from the Lord of the universe." Quran 8:20,10:37

John"And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you maybelieve that Jesus is the Christ (= Messiah), the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." Joh.20:30-31

Isa - Jesus without scarsIf you face a spiritual being who claims to be Jesus, ask him to showthe scars of his crucifiction. If he is not able to show them, he seemsto be Isa, the Jesus of the Quran.

The Quran overwrites the BibleThe Quran tells about the same persons as the Bible but gives us adifferent picture of them. It wants to replace the information of the Biblewith its own one. The Quran speaks about the Torah and the Gospel butconsiders the Bible the forgery of them.

Both the Bible and the Quran tell about Jesus. The Jesus of the Bibleis Jeshua in Hebrew and the Jesus of the Quran is Isa in Arabic. If wecompare them with each other we notice that the books tell about totallydifferent kinds of persons. The Jesus of the Quran is different just in thatthing, which is the most important thing in the Jesus of the Bible.

The origin of JesusThe Quran (3:47) tells that God created Isa into the womb of the virginMary by saying "Be!" It (3:59) says that Isa is the likeness of Adam. Thus the Jesus of the Quran is not a descendant of Adam. He cannoteven be considered a human being because he is a new Adam.

Although the Jesus of Quran was born in a very special way, theMuslims consider him only an ordinary man. The telling of the Qurancomes as near the Bible as possible so that a reader would believe that ittells about the same events as the Bible.

Why would God have needed the womb of Mary when created Isa?He also needed nothing else than the dust of the earth when He createdAdam. The giver of the Quran wants to keep all essential persons of the Bible and only gives them other contents. When the Quran speaksabout Jesus it almost always remembers to add "the son of Mary" afterthe name of Jesus - as though to make sure that nobody would not eventhink "the Son of God" when the name of Jesus is mentioned.

The Jesus of the Bible is the Word of God who has always existed. Hebecame man so that He received our human nature from Mary. God isHis Father because He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. He is at the

same time the true God and the true man, which means: He is the Son of God and the Son of Man.

The Jesus of the Quran doesn't share our sinful nature, because he isnot a descendant of Adam who fell into sin. Therefore he also wouldnot been able to atone our sins. The Jesus of the Bible had a share inour human nature so that He could in all points be tempted as we are, overcome all temptations and finally atone our sins.

The Quran (4:171) says that Isa was "a messenger of God and HisWord". The Bible says that Jesus is the Word of God by whom theworld has been created. He is the Word who is God, but the Jesus of the Quran is only a Word who is a message from God. Isa is like anangel who brings a message from God, because the word angel means amessenger. In this way the Quran takes from the Bible the concept theWord of God and gives it another meaning.

The ministry of JesusThe Jesus of the Bible began His ministry at about thirty years of age,and did not do miracles before that. The Quran (5:110) tells that Isa didmiracles already when he was a baby and spoke to the people from thecradle. He made a bird out of the clay and it became alive when he blewinto it.

The Jesus of the Bible speaks about God as His Father and says that"the Father who dwells in me does the works". When the Quran tellsabout the miracles of Isa, it always says that he did them "by God'spermission".

The Jesus of the Bible did miracles so that people would believe that He

is the Son of God. The Quran (61:6) tells that Isa did miracles so thatpeople would believe in "good news of a messenger" who come afterhim and whose name is Ahmad. This name refers to Muhammad.

The Jesus of the Bible lived perfectly good life so that He could bethe perfect and sinless atoning sacrifice for us. He did many miraclesbut still the Jews asked Him to show them a sign from heaven. ThenJesus promised them only the sign of the prophet Jonah. His death and

resurrection was this sign. The death and resurrection of Messiah is thesign from heaven.

The Quran (61:6) says that Isa came to confirm the Torah. So he is saidto be a teacher of the law that Moses gave us. However in the Quranthere are not teachings of Isa concerning what is right and wrong. Itgives us no equivalent for the Sermon on the Mount, in which the Jesusof the Bible testifies what is right and wrong.

In the Bible there are many quotations of what Jesus said. They tell usabout His goodness and how He totally submitted to the will of HisFather. In the Quran there are only a few quotations of what Isa has said(3:51,5:114,116,43:63,61:6,14).

Many Muslims believe that the Bible is partly true. They think that apart of the teachings of the Jesus of the Bible are teachings of Isa. In theIslamic literature there is a mount sermon, which is collected from Bibletexts that are modified according to the spirit of the Quran. It seemsto be so that the giver of the Quran has wanted this to happen so thatpeople would adopt only teachings of Jesus, but not who He is and whatHe achieved by His death and resurrection.

Jesus' departure from this worldThe Quran (4:157) tells that Isa didn't die but God raised him up toHim. In the Bible the death of Jesus on the cross is the most importantevent of the Book, because in that God demonstrated His love towardus. When the giver of the Quran denies the death of Jesus, he exposeshis attitude against a sin offering. In the Quran there are not even words"sacrifice" and "sin offering".

The Quran denies the most essential message of the Bible, the gospelabout the crucified and resurrected Son of God. It is so sad that thosewho believe in the Quran cannot experience God's love in that whenHe gave His only begotten Son as the sacrifice for us. Jesus died andwas risen from the dead so that those who believe in Him should not besentenced to hell but have everlasting life.

The Jesus of the Bible came to die and to be risen up. The Jesus of the Quran did not even die and so also was not resurrected. The Biblespeaks that the cross of Jesus is a stumbling-block to the Jews andfoolishness to the Gentiles. Thus the Quran has the same attitude towardthe Jesus of the Bible as the Jews.

The God of the Quran forgives sins without any atoning sacrifice.Although in Torah there are told about animals as sin offerings, theQuran tells nothing about them. So it is silent even about the patterns of the death of Jesus. Consistently it opposes the Sacrifice of God and theatonement of sins that is available throught it.

Why does Isa exist if he doesn't save us from our sins? The Qurancalls him Messiah. The Jews didn't receive the Jesus of the Bible as theMessiah. According to the Bible the Jews sentenced Jesus to death dueto the blasphemy, which was that thing when He called God His Fatherand Himself the Son of God. Their judgment was thus according to thespirit of the Quran.

Jesus as the Son of God offends both Jews and Muslims. The Jews didn'taccept Jesus as the Messiah, because they wanted the political Messiah. Also Muslims are waiting for the political Messiah. Thus, if the Jewshad really faced the Jesus of the Quran, they could have received him asthe Messiah.

The Quran is given by a spirit, who resists a sin offering by which theforgiveness of God is received. Actually all people resist it. Even inChristian congregations there are people who resist it in practice, thoughthey accept it in theory.

Those who really believe in the Jesus of the Bible have experiencedthe forgiveness of their sins. The heavenly peace they received testifiesagainst the Quran. In the death and resurretion of Jesus there is powerthat manifests itself in His own. If Jesus did not die and was not raisedfrom the dead, there would not be the miracles of God's grace in trueChristians. Compare the mercy of Allah, received without a sin offering, with the mercy that is based on the Sacrifice of God.

Nominal Christians and Muslims have no peace with God because of the same reason: they don't honor Jesus as the true God, and have notturned to Him because of His sacrificial death in order to get forgivenessof their sins. Through the power of the blood of Jesus, the Son of God,one can know God - and there is no God but Him.

Coming of JesusThe both books tell that Jesus is now in heaven. The Jesus of the Bibledied and stepped down to Hades but was raised from the dead and went

to heaven. The Jesus of the Quran went to there directly. The Jesus of the Bible told that He will come back to the earth. Also Muslims arewaiting for Isa coming back.

In the Quran (19:33) Isa speaks about the day when he will die. So hemust come back on to the earth to avoid the conflict with the word of theQuran that says that he was raised to heaven without death.

The Quran speaks about the people of the Scripture, who are consideredJews and Christians. The Quran (4:159) prophesies that when Isa comesback on to the earth, many Jews and Christians will receive him as theirMessiah before he dies.

Christians proclaim the death of Jesus till He comes. Muslims proclaim

that Isa will die after he has come.

If you see from heaven coming like a human being, who says to beJesus, which of them is he? It should be easy for everyone to recognize,is he Isa or Jeshua. The genuine Jesus has the scars that He got on thecross - out of His love for us.

In this world Muslims usually are not Muslims and Christians usuallyare not Christians. It is in this way because those who bear the name of aMuslim have not totally submitted themselves to God and those who bearthe name of a Christian don't totally obey Jesus Christ. They are notwhat their names say, but God is. He can change Muslims and Christiansso that they are what their names say by allowing them to know God.Jesus Messiah has come for knowing God. He is the exact representationof God's being. You can totally submit yourself to God only throughJesus Messiah.

What are the similarities between the Bible and the Quran and where dotheir messages differ? The most important similarity is that the both saythat it exists only one God and He has created the heaven and the earth. The most remarkable difference concerns who Jesus the Nazarene is andhow man is saved from the judgment of God.

John and Muhammad testify to Jesus. Whose testimony do you believe?John was the closest disciple of Jesus and eye-witness of His death andresurrection. Muhammad lived 600 years after Jesus and got his Jesusknowledge from the revelation given by an angel.

If you face a spiritual being who claims to be Jesus, ask him to show thescars of his crucifiction. If he is not able to show them, he seems to be Isa,the Jesus of the Quran.
