1
Jesus, you are with us whenever two or three are gathered in your name. We are gathered here in Your name and welcome and embrace you.
2
In each other and ourselves, we see your light shining here. We seek to be worthy of your presence.
3
To God who forgives and accepts all we open our home and our hearts. Amen

Your Hand, O God, Has GuidedVU 274
5
Your hand, O God, has guided your flock from age to age; the wondrous tale is written, full clear on every page.
6
Our forebears owned your goodness, and we their deeds record; and both to this bear witness: one church, one faith, one Lord.
7
Your heralds brought glad tidings to greatest as to least; they bade them rise, and hasten to share the heavenly feast.
8
And this was all their teaching, in every deed and word, to all alike proclaiming one church, one faith one Lord.
9
Through many days of darkness, through many scenes of strife, the faithful few fought bravely to guard your people’s life.
10
Their gospel of redemption, sin pardoned, earth restored, was all in this enfolded: one church, one faith, one Lord.
11
And we, shall we be faithless? Shall hearts fail, hands hang down? Shall we evade the conflict and cast away our crown?
12
Not so: in God’s deep counsels some better thing is stored; we will maintain, unflinching, one church, one faith, one Lord
13
Your mercy will not fail us, nor leave your work undone; with your right hand to help us, the victory shall be won;
14
And then, by earth and heaven, your name shall be adored, and this shall be our anthem: one church, one faith, one Lord.
15
We come to worship because all you ask of us is our Love in response to Your own. Worship is a way of loving you back. Love for you brings only security, calm and blissful gratitude for all the gifts of Life. All Your gifts. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Amen

“When times get bad, people cry out for help.
31
They cry for relief from being kicked around, But never give God a thought when things go well, when God puts spontaneous songs in their hearts
32
When God sets out the entire creation as a science classroom, using birds and beasts to teach wisdom.
33
People are arrogantly indifferent to God— until, of course, they’re in trouble, and then God is indifferent to them.
34
There’s nothing behind such prayers except panic; the Almighty pays them no mind.
35
So why would he notice you just because you say you’re tired of waiting to be heard, or waiting for him to get good and angry and do something about the world’s problems?
36
37
Moses’ father-in-law said, “This is no way to go about it. You’ll burn out, and the people right along with you. This is way too much for you—you can’t do this alone.
38
Now listen to me. Let me tell you how to do this so that God will be in this with you. Be there for the people before God, but let the matters of concern be presented to God.
39
Your job is to teach them the rules and instructions, to show them how to live, what to do. And then you need to keep a sharp eye out for competent men—
40
men who fear God, men of integrity, men who are incorruptible—
41
and appoint them as leaders over groups organized by the thousand, by the hundred, by fifty, and by ten.
42
They’ll be responsible for the everyday work of judging among the people. They’ll bring the hard cases to you, but in the routine cases they’ll be the judges.
43
They will share your load and that will make it easier for you. If you handle the work this way, you’ll have the strength to carry out whatever God commands you, and the people in their settings will flourish also.”

The Ten Commandments
VU 877
46
Hear the commandments which God gave Israel through Moses:
47
You shall have no other gods besides me.
48
You shall not make yourself idols, nor bow down to them, nor serve them.
49
You shall not swear falsely, by my name.
50
Remember the day of rest and keep it holy.
51
Honour your father and your mother.
52
Spirit of God, descent upon my heart.
53
You shall not murder.
54
You shall not commit adultery.
55
You shall not steal.
56
You shall not bear false witness.
57
You shall not covet anything that is your neighbor’s.
58
Spirit of God, descend upon my heart.
59
60
What can I do? What can I bring? What can I say? What can I sing?I’ll sing with Joy, I’ll say a prayer, I’ll bring my love, I’ll do my share
61
Every day is a day of thanksgiving, every choice an opportunity for us to sing praise to you, God of all.
62
Because all these days, all of these moments, all of these possibilities, come from your live and our love—a blessing forever!
63
Thank you, Creator. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Be Still, My SoulVU 652
65
Be still, my soul, for God is on your side; bear patiently the cross of grief or pain. Trust in your God, your saviourand your guide,
66
who through all changes faithful will remain. Be still, my soul, your best, your heavenly friend through stormy ways leads to a peaceful end.
67
Be still, my soul, you God will undertake to guide the future surely as the past. Your hope, your confidence let nothing shake;
68
all now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul, life’s tempests still obey the voice that once the waves’ wild fury stayed.
69
in God’s peace; when disappointment, grief and fear are gone, Be still, my soul, the hour is hastening on when we shall be forever
70
Love’s joys restored, our strivings all shall cease. Be still, my soul, when change and tears are past, all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
