Dusty air enters the system from the lower part of the filter and dusty air moves through the filter bags. Dust in the air caught by the fitler bags and clean air taken out from the upper part of the jet pulse filter by filter fan. According to the dust amount collected on the bags permeability of the bags decreases. This can be followed by the differantial pressure between dusty and clean air parts of the filter. If the differantial pressure rises up stop the fan and have bags cleaned by the pressured air. Selenoid valves are started up by the electronic control box with an adjustable time periods such as 0.1second and pressured air directed by the selenoid valves to the pipes.Pressured air injected through the holes on the pipes to the venturi. Pressured air with a high velocity makes seconder air flow while passing through the venturi. Pressured air and clean air in the upper part of the filter flows through the filter bags because of the differantial pressure. According to the resultant air flow on the upper part of the filter, there is a pressure rise in short period and this pressure rise makes the bags to be cleaned of the dust on its outer surface. During operation a small part of the filtering area can be cleaned. Because of it air flow does not change at any time.Required efficiency of the jet pulse filter is the caught dust amount of %99 in the air. At this point efficiency is supplied by the dust plane on the surface of the bags.On bag cleaning process this thiny dust plane should not be cleaned.

03.2 Operating Principle

Filter bags made of polyester or special materials (according to process) in a cylindrical bag cage.Bag,bag cage and venturi is placed in the holes on perforated steel.

Cleaning system :

• Electronic control unit makes the valves open. • When the valve opens, pressured air in the selenoid valve comes off. • Air with 6 Atu pressure follows the way of air tank-pipe-venturi-bags in a short

period. While passing through venturi seconder air is taken by pressured air.Thus bags on this line is cleaned.

Filter housing, which is fully impervious, is separated by perforated steel into two parts as upper and lower part.Lower part consists of bags and bunker. There is an air lock, bucket or an leakproof materials under the bucket.Upper part includes the pipes, selenoid valves, and the clean air outlet.

03.3 Starting up and operating the filter :

Before start up ;

1. Check if there is a leakage on the air pipes and filter housing. 2. Check electric connections and electronic control unit working regularity. 3. Check the fan’s direction of rotation. 4. Check whether electric line is 220V-50Hz or not on the elecronic control unit. Starting up the system ;

1. Close the inlet damper of the fan, 2. Start up the system for a short period and check if there is a rubbing surfaces or

not. 3. Start up the fan and open the inlet damper slowly and make the adjustment on

the suction side. 4. Filter’s dust concentration is controlled by a U manometer or an electronic

differential pressure gauge.(According to the bag and dust type this differential pressure should be between 100-150 mmWG.)

5. To reduce the pressure resistance pressured air should reach 6,5-7 Atu.Adjust the pulse time to a shorter period to have a better cleaning and keeping pressure difference in low values. Electronic control unit and bags life can make longer as a result of using less pressured air by increasing the pulse time period.

Operating The Electronic Control Unit :

Electronic Control Box Includes:

− Blowing Period Switch

− Manuel and Automatic Control Switch

− Power Switch

− Valve Swicth

− Bags Pulse Transformation Switch

 According to the dust concentration blowing period can be adjusted between 0,9-0,54 split second by blowing period potansiometer.

 1” selenoid valve is used for each bag group. According to the dust concentration and operating conditions transformation period between bags can be adjusted in the range of 0,5-30 seconds.

 Automatic or manuel control can be done by the switch on the panel. Manuel Control : (Used to check the functionality of the valves and piston.) Energy is switched on/off on the panel. Some additional devices that shows the dust concentraiton of the bags can be

assembled to the electronic control unit.

04. MAINTENANCE MANUEL

1. Shaking off system have no mechnanical part so there is no need to lubrication. But air lock and helix screw in the bunker needs lubrication.

2. To have no corrosion problem, metal parts should be painted periodicially . 3. Suction of the fan decreases if the dust concentraiton on the bag surfaces

increases. In this condition stop the fan and start up only shaking off system to get the bags cleaned.

4. Selenoid Valve maintenance;

4.1. Check the bobbin, 4.2. Check the cables mounted on the bobbin. 4.3. Check if the pressured air is dry and without oil. 4.4. Check if the valve diaphragm is all right and have

any dirtiness. 4.5. If there is dirtiness it should be cleaned. Diaphragm

or valve should be changed if there is problem on the diaphragm. The pressure should not reach 8 Atu for the diaphragm explosion control.

4.6. Check the spring that pushes the diaphragm.If any problem about the spring hardness, spring should be changed with the new one.

5. Filter bag cleaning and maintenance ; There is no need to clean the bags in normal conditions and continiously operating conditions.

Systems with the optimum air velocity for the operating conditions does not need any maintenance. Mistakes during assembling and maintenance can occur a necessity of repair on the system. Deformations and blockings on the bags which is caused in long time working periods should be repaired by changing the bags more economically.

6. Changing the diaphragm :

Loosen the bolts on the cover and open the cover, change the diaphragm.

WARNING:

Be carefull not to fall the spring and the pin down while holding up the cover.

7. Selenoid Valve :

- Loosen the bolts on the bobbin and get the bobbin out. - Loosen the bolts carefully and get the pilot group out. - Clean the deformed parts and change them if necessary. Order the spare

parts you need.

WARNING :

Do not tighten the selenoid valve bolts hardly during assembly. If tightened strongly shuttle box base can damage or broke down. Strongly tightening forces the shuttle and spring so they can not work properly.

05. DETERMINING THE FAILURE ON THE SYSTEM 05.1 Suction problem occurs after a while;

• Open the maintenance cover on the bunker and check the dirtiness of the bags.

• Open the bags maintenance covers and take out the dirty bags&cages. Clean the bags with high pressured air. Mount the cleaned bags on the filter again.

• Check if the pressured air shocks the bags or not.If not the water level in the water collector is above the limit, discharge excessive water.

• Check if the pressured air is 6-7 Atu or not.

• Check the suction pipes and dampers,clean them if necessary.

• Chack the rotor’s direction of rotation.If it is wrong make the rotor rotate on the right direction of rotation.

• Check the fan belts.If it is loosen tight them up.

• Check the valves.

• Check if there is an air leakage on the pipes,air lock or maintenance covers.

05.2 Dust Leakage in the system;

• Check all the bags one by one.Change the damaged bags.

• Check the air lock is working properly.

• If the air on the outlet of the fan is dusty air check the filter bags.

• If there is a vibration on the fan some dust particules can be collected on the rotor,these particules can cause a vibration on the fan.So open the maintenance door and clean the rotor blades.

05.3 If the shakening system pressure is generally low;

• Selenoid valve can be open.Check the system and clean if necessary.Especially check the shuttle spring system carefully.

• There can be a short circuit or valve is always open.

• There can be a problem on the signal of the electronic control unit.

• There may be a wrong connection, leakage on the compressor or pipes.

• The min. pressure required for the selenoid valves to close is 3 Atu. If the pipes after the closing valve is too long the required pressure 3Atu can not be reached.

• Solution : Mount the compressor and closing valve near the dust collector unit.

05.4 Filter bag problems;

• Check the moisture of the operating system, if the system moisture is too low static electric may occur.

• If the moisture level is high dust can stick on the bags.Check the moisture of the bags.

• Check the sticked dust particules in the bunker. The particules rised to the filter bags can damage the bags.

• Filter bags are wrongly mounted. The friction between two bags, bag-cage or bag to the outer surface can be problem. Check the vertical distances between bags.

• The particules with high velocity may damage the filter bags.Check the dusty air inlet and perforated plate, change them if damaged.
