formal methods and TOYOTA’s strong requirement for Dependability was a driver.

accidental dependability issues and all got out from The Open Group, but instead, Mario comes

in as the member and expressed his vision of Open System Dependability to be The Open
Standard in right.
After 2 years of hard works, Mario and I, spend all 8 The Open Group sessions for almost
dedicating to introducing DEOS and integrating with TOGAF concept and security standards in
Real time Embedded systems Forum where “ dependability Through assuredness “ was formed
as a trade mark, with the strong support of Allen Brown and Joe Bergmann, completed my
commitment 2 years ago to challenge Dependability through assuredness standard to be made
and implemented right after devastating 3・11 tsunami and nuke disasters in 2011 and disaster .

Manifesto of JF ReGIS & The Open Group
Load to ABCDE Framework became O-DA Standard
( Dependability Through Assuredness)
ABCDEF (Architecture Based Compositional Dependability Ensuring Frame-work)
Upon strong requirement from TOYOTA (who was The Open Group member) on
Dependable Software in 2006, I started a series of discussions with Joe Bergmann, RTES
Forum Director and John Anton, Board member at that time, and kick offed the presentation
with Mr. Kazuaki Minami., senior project director on April 23, 2007 Paris, at the first day
plenary of The Open Group conference with Katsutoshi Shintani, IPA Japan theming.
< The Bridge of Architecture and Implementation via Assurance of True Requirements>
(http://archive.opengroup.org/public/member/proceedings/q207/23PL.htm#streams),
I tried to bridge TOGAF of EA into much solution level of “Dependability architecture
assurance” via Enterprise architecture, Solution architecture modeling, Assurance case on
Dependability, via formal V&V “Through assuredness with sufficient evidences” with long
range vision of transforming TOGAF into “ Computable TOGAF”.
6
After series of major project sponsors, Hitachi, Fujitsu, and NEC’s consecutive retirement
from board member followed by Toyota’s business problem and change of Government from
LDP, all supporters are gone except me..
But in 2011, luckily enough, I found Dr. Mario Tokoro, supported by Science and technology
agency of Japan trying to make his 7 years project, DEOS to be open standard via ISO/IEC;
De jure standard as Open systems dependability of their Dependable Embedded Operating
System .So, from 2011, with the help of Dr. Shuichiro Yamamoto, Nagoya university, I started
to bridge TOGAF ADM process with their Dependable Assurance Cases first as a RTES
Standard Dependability Assurance case receiving the support both from academic and The
Open Group, CIO & CTO levels with biggest concerns on Accountability of performing the
best possible appropriate management job. In 2013, starting from Jan, in LA, conference, Ed
Robert and I dedicated our support at the Open Group conference, letting Mario, Shuichitro and
Yutaka Matsuno team to propose their DEOS technology into the Architecture based
Compositional Dependability Ensuring Framework (ABCDEF) as the dependability assurance
standards of The Open Group through RTES Forum. We made an Dependability case concluded
as Version 1.0 standard but, over and above assurance case, it take a long stride to propose the
concrete standard with DEOS repository and database and formal methods with much
monitoring capability for automated remedy formation or Disaster recovery in case of
exceeding the architecture scope limits happen.
