TheIndianRailwayCateringandTourismCorporation(IRCTC)andCoalIndia(CIL)are joininghandsforaprojecttousetheexcessgroundwaterfromthelatter’sminestoproducepurifiedpackagedwaterbeingsoldunderIRCTC’spopularRailNeer brand.

AsitehasbeenidentifiedatArgada nearRanchiinthecoal-richstateofJharkhandtosetupabottlingplantofIRCTC

Onaverage,CILminesproduceofover5,700lakhcusecofwatereveryyear,ofwhichitutilises2,589lakhcusecforownusesuchasatcoalwasheries andforagriculturalpurposesandsupplies1,091lakhcusectolocalcommunitiesaroundthemines.

crore.

TheGovernmentofIndiawillprovidelargelyfundsfortheSchemetoallStates/UTs.

TheStatesandUnionTerritoriesarerequiredtocompletetheworksofhouseholdelectrificationbythe31st ofDecember2018.

ThebeneficiariesforfreeelectricityconnectionswouldbeidentifiedusingSocioEconomicandCasteCensus(SECC)2011data.

However,un-electrifiedhouseholdsnotcoveredundertheSECCdatawouldalsobeprovidedelectricityconnectionsundertheschemeonpaymentofRs.500whichshall

JharkhandChiefMinisterRaghubarDassaidhisgovernmenthaspreparedanactionplantoeradicatemalnutritionfromthestateby2022.

Thegovernmentwillseekassistancefromsocialorganisations andcorporatehousestoachievethistarget,theCMsaidataUNICEFprogrammeinRanchi.
