JAIPURWhere History Meets the Future

Rajasthan's beautiful Pink City Jaipur was one of the strong holds of a clan of rulers whose three hill forts and series of palaces in the city are important attractions. Royal presence of the elegance of the city is what describes Pink City. Jaipur is one of the country's most popular tourism spots, a confluence of a rich heritage and a vibrant present. The travelers have always taken a keen interest in the culture of Jaipur. Against the backdrop of breath - taking monuments of the legendary Rajput royalty, today towering edifices of the new - age multiplexes, modern residential and commercial complexes, MNC offices and sprawling hospitality landmarks are the hallmark of Jaipur city.

While the heritage, performing arts, handlooms and handicrafts keep a steady flow of tourists, both Indian and international, trickling in the growing presence of business and industry has given Jaipur an effervescent, cosmopolitan character, resulting in the consequent growth of new-age infrastructure and facilities.

One of the most significant transformations of the city has been the development of a modern hub of higher learning, with a host of universities and institutions coming up fast. This gives today's Jaipur a youthful character, with an atmosphere buzzing with learning and new - age knowledge streams. Jaipur is situated approximately 260 Kms. from Delhi and is very well connected by rood, rail and air.

From the Desk of CHANCELLOR

Indian technocrats are known for their skills and expertise throughout the world. With information technology leading the bandwagon, other sectors such as manufacturing, telecommunication, power transmission and infrastructure development have also witnessed numerous success stories. With India geared up to achieve above 10 percent growth rate mark in the years to come, bridging the demand -supply gap in the technical education sector, both qualitatively as well as quantitatively, must be the first step in this riveting journey.

Indian education system has always fascinated the world since ages. The Gurukul system of ancient India, where students used to live at the Gurukul or the teacher's home and complete their education, till date offers no parallel. There is no arguing to the fact that despite all odds and non-uniformities, the modern day education system in the country has fueled the growth of Indian economy and has brought glory to the country, the world over. Making available quality education to all has been on the priority list of all governments in the post-independence era.

JK Lakshmipat University has been established precisely with this solemn objective of providing quality education, training, research and consultancy. The Institute of Management and The Institute of Engineering and Technology are the main constituent institutes of the University and is aimed at offering best-of-the-world management and technical education to its students. With a focus on incubating the creativity and ingenuity of its students, the Institute will equip them to face the global challenges. With world-class infrastructure and well-qualified and experienced faculty members as their mentors, the students, I am sure, will be able to excel in their respective fields and emerge as future leaders of the globe.

Wishing you all a great learning experience at JKLU and great future thereafter.

From the Desk of VICE CHANCELLOR

Globalization calls for better management, faster response to change and subscription to globally accepted standards of quality. It also calls for attitudinal change in government, business and society. The future professional will be required to be innovative with business acumen, quick on the grasp, and with an instinctive ability to network while processing unbridled ambition. Expansion of professional education in the post-independence era is unprecedented in the history of the country. However, a lot more needs to be accomplished with respect to increasing its coverage and enhancing its accessibility to people, irrespective of caste, creed and color because there still exists a wide gap between the demand and supply of professionally competent people in the country and this gap is increasing year after year with increasing industrial and business activities.

JK Lakshmipat University, one of the best emerging private universities in north India, is committed to ‘creation’, ‘dissemination’ and ‘application’ of cutting edge knowledge. The university is known for its quality faculty pursuing a focused teaching, training and research agenda. The Institute of Management & the Institute of Engineering and Technology of the JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU) have been established for honing the skills of future professionals to make them competent to face challenges. The university is providing them a vibrant learning environment. Our deeply committed faculty works with the students inside and outside the classroom to make their experience genuine crucible learning. The University is committed to continue its efforts in refreshing and updating its faculty to enable them to impart quality education to groom young future professionals with a belief that ability will get them to the top. A wholesome personality is not complete without compassion, respect for the human values and team spirit. The University nurturers its students to cultivate these traits through its various activities and interactions. We are confident that our alumni, who will be our ambassadors, will do a commendable job in creating brand equity for the University by serving the business and non-business organizations in particular and mankind in general.

Industrial Training The Industrial Training is intended to give the students an opportunity to enhance their knowledge, sharpen the skills, appreciate the practical problems and begin planning their career in the light of practical experience gained during the period. It provides an opportunity to a student to see the work life closely and learn to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Research @ JKLUResearch is vital for the success of any Global endeavor. It is the foundation of development and policies all over the World. Research draws its power from the fact that it is empirical rather than merely theorizing about what might be effective or what could work Quality research results are examinable, replicable, and the knowledge generated is applicable to real world situations. Pursuing a research is both challenging and rewarding experience, and this opportunity enables a researcher to pursue and in depth original study about a topic of interest.

The key to quality research lies in iterating the process of relooking into the research questions methods and data, which leads to new ideas, revisions and improvements. It is easy to think of research as a step-by-step process, but it is important to be fluid and open to change. Discussing the research project with researchers, academicians and peers give rise to new research questions, points to the variables that need to be added or omitted and other changes to be made. As proposed study is examined and re-examined from different view points to ensure a comprehensive approach to the research question. It is important to realize that the research process is cyclical and iterative. With a mission of knowledge enhancement, skills development and innovative thinking, JK Lakshipat University, Jaipur, offers research program leading to the Ph.D degree which involves a stipulated course work and credit requirements plus producing a research thesis that shall be characterized by the discovery of new facts, or providing a new perspective of interpretation application of existing facts or postulating a new theory or evaluating an existing theory in new contexts and innovation and development of equipment/product/process making a unique advancementin technology or a practice or a principle.

The University is driven by its belief of creating industry - ready professionals who are geared to contribute productively to organizations from day one.
