Job Description
America Reads/America Counts is a tutoring program in which Normandale students work within the
Bloomington public school districts to help elementary and middle school children improve
their math and reading skills. The position comes with many rewards, offering each tutor a chance to make a
difference in a child’s life, gain valuable skills, and build their resume. While previous tutoring experience is

you with a child. As a tutor you will:
• Work with children one-on-one or in small groups.
• Work with one of 15 elementary or middle schools in the Bloomington area.
• Attend an orientation and training prior to tutoring.
• Attend scheduled reflections that will assist you in the tutoring process.
