10th July 2019 COMMUNICATIONS AND CONTENT MANAGER JOB SPECIFICATION Reports to: Senior Communications Manager Contract: Permanent Benefits: Unlimited annual leave, Healthcare cash plan, 6% pension contribution, discounted gym membership Based: London Waterloo Salary: Competitive Work environment that values creativity, personal growth and collaboration ABOUT CALM The Campaign Against Living Miserably, CALM, is leading a movement against suicide, currently the single biggest cause of death for men under 45 in the UK. On average, 16 people take their own life each day. Our free, confidential, and anonymous helpline and webchat service operates every day of the year, 5pm to midnight, for anyone in the UK who is feeling down or depressed. Through our campaigns and engagement activities, CALM aims to change culture so that people feel able to seek help before they reach a point of crisis, and family and friends feel better able to support each other. ABOUT THE ROLE Our ambition at CALM is to continue to develop and deliver award-winning but more importantly, highly impactful, engaging communications. As one of our greatest assets in our fight to stop suicide, we have built a team capable of bravely communicating in a new way to a massively growing audience. The successful applicant will be a stand out writer and storyteller, crafting great ideas into stand out and diligent comms. You’ll be an integral part of our studio, which is output focussed comms engine. It’s not all big campaigns, we are a department that serves the rest of the business but we always keep the highest of standards so even the annual report and the christmas cards are thought of creatively, but delivered without compromising quality. KEY FOCUS ● Participating in the Marketing & Communications team to deliver e�ective, impactful, on-brand 

communications to deliver CALM’s goals 

● Strategy, oversight and some facilitation of CALM’s creative content  

● Servicing all other areas of the business reliant on the Marketing & Communication team to deliver 

e�ective work produc t 

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION ● Contribute to and maintain brand positioning, tone of voice and messaging across all work output  

● Vital contribution to comms strategy, planning and calendar 

● Editor role of website including regular written contribution  

● Editor role of social media, CRM user journeys, corporate comms and more 

● Contributing to campaigns delivery and impact 

● Management of projects from a comms and marketing perspective  

● Line management of comms o�icers (TBC) 

● Briefing, guiding, nurturing and supporting more junior members of the team
