of Austin Eastside Story Foundation– Inaugural class in October 2000– Extended program in 2002 to encompass the

Austin metropolitan area

GTEC Project GTEC Project Highlights…Highlights… Class Statistics since October 2007:

– Class Completion: 204 of 267 students | 80% pass rate

– Job Placement: * 70% placement 

– Average wages for job placement: $13 to $19 per hour

Verification activities:– Random drug screenings– Criminal background investigations

Second Chance Initiative: – Counseling and follow-up provided for students

if they fail initial drug test or for certain criminal convictions.
