Under his leadership, volunteers have rallied to raise over $28 million to help save babies.
Dear Friends,I would like to invite you to participate in our 2012 Celebrity Golf Tourna-ment on Thursday, September 13th. I have worked with the March of Dimes for nearly forty years as a volunteer and spokesman. I can’t think of anything more important or heroic than to help save a baby’s life.
This year we hope to raise a record $900,000, which will bring our eight-year total to $5.2 million. I want to thank everyone for their commitment, generosity and hard work. Special thanks to our Chair Frank Falciani, Vice Chairs: Fred Johs, Tom Kennedy, Pat Maas, Adam Mandel, Steve Napolitano, Vincent Parziale, Dr. Gabe San Roman and Brian Trematore, the executive and volunteer golf committees and our sponsors for making this one of the best golf tournaments in the country.
We will be playing at one of the premier golf courses in the country - Bethpage State Park. Joining us will be an all-star line-up of 80+ sports and entertainment celebrity golfers that have generously volunteered their time to our cause.
I can promise that you will be treated to a first class and rewarding experience, while helping thousands of babies and their families here in the New York area. Today, 1 of every 8 babies born will be premature and will need our help. By participating in this tournament and supporting the March of Dimes, you are a champion for babies. BETHPAGE STATE PARKLocated on Long Island in Farmingdale, New York, Bethpage State Park is one of the premier public golf facilities in the world.
With five courses, the complex is among the busiest golf facilities in the United States. The Red and Blue Course annually host a variety of major local amateur and professional events.
The Black Course, however, is clearly the crown jewel of the five. The selection by the USGA as the site of the 2002 and 2009 US Open clearly has moved the Black Course and Bethpage into the world golf spotlight. Bethpage will also host the 2012 Barclays.
The three courses you will be playing (Blue, Red and Yellow) are all first class and were designed by A.W. Tillinghast and Alfred H. Tull, two of the most prolific architects in the history of golf.
