SC-39 Terms of Reference

� Scope: Standardization related to the intersection of resource efficiency and IT which supports sustainable development, application, operation and managementaspects.

� A Working Group on Energy Efficient Data Centres� A Working Group on Energy Efficient Data Centres� Draft Terms of Reference:

� a) development of a data centre energy efficiency taxonomy and vocabulary

� b) development of a holistic suite of metrics supporting universally accepted standardized Key Performance indicators

� c) development of best practices for energy efficient data centres

� d) development of an energy management system standard specifically tailored for data centres

� SC 39 will investigate together with ITU-T SG 5 the possibility of developing joint projects in accordance with JTC 1 Standing document 3, in particular as already identified for potential revision of Recommendation ITU-T L.1300
