Tralee, Co. KerryTralee is the county town of County Kerry. The town is on the northern side of the neck of the  Dingle Peninsula, and while the town is modern and bustling, it also pays much respect to its own history.

Tralee was founded by the Anglo-Normans in the 13th century. Since, its founding, the city has grown around the grand Tralee Castle and the Dominican Abbey. Much of the city today, though, reflects the designs of the Denny family who rebuilt Tralee during their rule in the 18th century.

County Kerry is in the Southwest region of Ireland and is part of the province of Munster. Kerry is the fifth-largest of the 32 counties of Ireland by area and the 15th-largest by population. The county also has a strong Gaelic footballing tradition and the county colours are green and yellow. The county is often referred to as ‘the Kingdom.’

With its mountains, lakes and Atlantic coastline, Kerry is among the most scenic areas in Ireland and is one of the most significant tourist destinations in Ireland.
