The Global CCS Institute is the world’s leading authority on carbon capture and storage (CCS) – an international climate change organisation whose mission is to accelerate the deployment of CCS as an imperative technology in tackling climate change and providing energy security.
With a team of over 40 professionals working with and on behalf of our Members, we drive the adoption of CCS as quickly and cost effectively as possible by sharing expertise, building capacity and providing information, advocacy and advice to ensure this clean technology can play its vital role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

GLOBAL STATUS OF CCS REPORTEvery year, the Institute publishes the Global Status of CCS - a flagship publication for policy-makers and businesses to understand CCS and its vital importance to a low-emission future. The CCS community and energy/climate stakeholders depend on the Status Report to provide them with the most current data on the state of play of all things CCS – including facilities, policies, technology development, and the role of CCS in addressing energy security and emissions reductions. Government and private sector organizations alike use this information to help plan for future deployment, so its continued publication is critical to build momentum for CCS.
CO2RE™Launched in 2018, our CCS intelligence database provides Members with exclusive access to the most current data, information and analysis of global CCS facilities, policy, storage, legal and regulatory and emissions information from across more than 50 countries. The graphical user interface makes it easy for users to navigate and find exactly what they are looking for in a fraction of the time it would otherwise take them.
