Over the past month, the cards, gifts and sentiments shared reminded us powerfully of the call placed on our lives to serve as pastor. We are
overwhelmed by the kindnesses shown to us and our families as we serve in ministry at Trinity. Thank you for taking the time to do that—it truly made many of our days and is changing our lives! God bless you all as TOGETHER we move forward with God’s plan for Trinity!

Updates were shared with the Council regarding the planning progress for the 5th biannual Raise the Roof (RTR5).
An updated wedding fee schedule was presented, discussed and approved.
Progress reports were provided for the three projects the Property Committee is working on: altar stairs, concrete leveling and lighting outside the northwest door.

How would it look for us to engage people, schools and businesses in such a way that we became catalysts for
lasting change here in Columbus?
Join us as we explore these questions in our January message series.

If you're looking for parental direction in today's tumultuous world and your pint-sized treasures often seem to have the upper hand, you're not alone. How can you encourage healthy attitudes, positive behavior and long-lasting values in children of all ages?
Parenting isn't easy, but it's simpler than you think. With Dr. Leman's practical, action-oriented methods, you'll learn how to: · Get your kids to listen to you · Establish values your children will want to emulate · Get your kids to willingly talk to you · Put yourself back in the driver's seat · Rear responsible adults who are difference makers in the world · Use the 7 principles of reality discipline to create a win-win · And much more
Want respectful, well-behaved kids who make good choices now and in the long haul? Making Children Mind without Losing Yours, now revised for a new generation of parents and kids, is a simple game plan any parent can follow. Guaranteed.
We’d love to have you join us for this fun class. Have questions, please catch Pastor Wayne, before or after any service, he will gladly chat with you about the course,

This 6-session video study explores how your wired affects what you say, how you listen and how others hear you. After taking the 40-
question assessment, you'll learn a simple framework that will instantly improve your communication. And you'll see how advice from the apostle Paul thousands of years ago may have held the secret all along.
The study workbook includes discussion questions, exercises and reading that complement the I Said This, You Heard That video study, available too is the free I Said This, You Heard That mobile app.
Workbooks are just $10 … please pre-order by signing up at the Information Station in the Narthex by Dec 24.
To learn more, please chat with Pastor Wayne!
From the Pastor : Pastor Brandon Foster
Mommy, I am too tired for devotions.
I love the season of Advent! It’s this time set aside to prepare for great gifts, but it’s also made to ready our hearts for new experiences of faith.
At our home, on our kitchen table, is a beautiful piece that helps us remember the remarkable joy to come in the season: the Advent wreath.
This decoration has a beautiful history that began in the 16th Century with German Lutherans. They wanted to create something to help all people anticipate Christ’s birth while pointing to the news that He will come again. What they created was a wreath that teaches us that when all hope seems lost, God is still at work shining His life that dispels the darkness. This wreath involves seven different pieces, each with great significance, that tell us a beautiful story of what God is up to in this season.
The first piece is the wreath itself. The wreath is circular, and it represents God’s infiniteness, and there is no breaking in His character or nature. Also, each of the pieces are attached and extend from this circular wreath, suggesting that every perfect gift comes from God.
The next piece is the candle holders on the wreath. There are 4 places to hold the candles with the total number of candles together symbolizes the 400 years that passed between the prophet Malachi to the birth of Jesus Christ. During these years, God was silent—still active, mind you—but after that time, He would be silent no more!
Next is the light of each candle. With the lighting of each candle more and more light displays itself. Before the first candle is lit, there is complete darkness; when the first candle is lit, light penetrates into the darkness lessening it. As more candles are lit, more and more darkness is dispelled, just as Jesus did by His coming!
The first candle lit is the Hope candle. This candle represents all the Old Testament prophecies about the coming of Jesus Christ and the hope of a coming Savior for the people of Israel.
The second candle lit is the Peace candle. This candle symbolizes the prophecies about Bethlehem being the city of David and the birthplace of the Savior. This world will find peace when the Savior comes!
The third candle is the Joy candle. This candle is the turning candle on the wreath and is distinguished in color for that reason (the others are traditionally blue or purple; this candle is pink). This candle represents a new anticipation of prophesy being fulfilled! It is also a different color as to turn our hearts from waiting on a Savior, with no indication of His coming, but to knowing that He is coming and letting our anticipation grow! Lastly, as two candles were lit previously to this one, there was still more darkness around the wreath. As this third candle is lit, more light is poured in to overpower the darkness; and this light is growing!
The fourth candle is the Love candle. This candle marks the announcement of Jesus birth and truth of God’s love for His people.
Now, the wreath has been lit, but there is one last candle to be lit. This is the center candle, the Christ candle. Christ is in the center because He is the center of God’s will. His candle shines the brightest of all the wreath candles and is at the center of all history! His birth came so that we could know His redemption. Without Christ’s sinless birth, He could not have been our sinless Savior. And without His birth, we would not know His death and resurrection. We have eager anticipation now to know Him and to await His return!
Every year we light this wreath with our children in our home to teach them about how God is always up to something to point us to Jesus. We love this tradition. May it be one you can learn and teach to others too as you wait in eager expectation for Jesus. Happy Advent and Merry Christmas to you!
