Z

We have over 20 years of experience in designing, manufacturing andmarketing a complete range of standard and seismic joints:joint covers, expansion and control joints, fire stop systems, etc.

All the professionals recognise our expertise: architects, consultants, general businesses and subcontractors.

EXPANSION JOINTSFor horizontal and vertical applications. Our extensive range caters to all types of projects:public or private, industrial, commercial and service projects. We are constantly developing new products and have just expanded our range including a special joint for use with flexible floor coverings, and for seismic or non-seismic joint gaps up to 200 mm.

JOINT COVERS• Clip affixed aluminium or PVC joint covers. All RAL colours available including natural wood, gold, silver, bronze, brass, and any other special colours.• Extruded, drilled, countersunk joint covers up to 320 mm wide.• Adhesive or folded joint covers in stainless steel, galvanized steel, mill finish or anodised aluminium, or powder coated with a thickness of 5/10 to 30/10.

FIRE STOP SYSTEMSApplications: expansion joints, heads of walls, floor nosings, curtain walls.• VEDAFEU C fire stop backer rods which have been officially tested and validated for joint gaps from 10 to 200 mm. • VEDAFEU N fire stop blankets which have been officially tested and validated for joint gaps up to 840 mm. Movement +/- 50%.

USES Schools, hospitals, shopping centres, industrial buildings and housing, airports, railway stations, leisure centres, car parks, etc.

GUARANTEES : Regular tests and inspections carried out by official laboratories(CSTB, Efectis, TÜV) guarantee the highest standards (Classification Reports, patents, designs).

WHAT IS AN EXPANSION JOINT ? THE RIGHT PROFILE

An expansion joint is an empty space, free of any material between two parts of a structure. It goes all the way up the structure allowing each part to move freely without interference.

The size of an expansion joint depends on what deformations are possible in the construction. Whether standard or seismic, an expansion joint should allow horizontal, vertical and shear movements.

CAUSES OF MOVEMENTS

• Concrete removal

• Expansion and contraction of the concrete structure (temperature

changes)

• Settlement of the structure

• Movements generated by the environment (wind, vibration)

• Earthquakes

HOW TO CHOOSE AN EXPANSION JOINT ?

1. Location (floor, wall, façade, ceiling)

2. Initial gap

3. Expected movement

4. Expected load/passage

5. Waterproofing requirementn

6. Flush or inserted installation

7. Type of finish

8. Fire resistance

9. Cost

Choosing the right profile for performance and aesthetics is essential for durability.REFERENCES WORLDWIDE ...
