Schools and Colleges Schools & Colleges from Manaloor constituency are requested for participation in the event. One student per language for each category of competition per school/college. Directions to Sopaanam: The final stop from any direction (from Thrissur or Triprayar or Irinjalakuda is Cherpu West (Padinjattumuri) bus stop. Only walking distance from Cherpu West (Padinjattumuri) bus stop to Sopaanam. Ask for Cherpu Bhagavathy Temple East Nada. Sopaanam is located at the East Nada of the temple. Suggestions: Please give a copy of the notice to the participating student/parent/guardian/teacher/ group leader. Students who are minors should be accompanied by adults/parents/teachers for supervision and guidance. Information: Award winners in Grades 1-4 and Grades 5-7 will be announced as soon as the results become available. Award winners in all other categories will be announced only at the time of award ceremonies. 2) Grades 5-7. Total 20 students. a) Recitation(prose/poetry) in Malayalam; Dictation andmeaning in Malayalam b) Recitation (prose/poetry) in English; Dictation and meaning inEnglish c) Recitation (prose/poetry) in Hindi;Dictation and meaning in Hindi d) Recitation(prose/poetry) in Sanskrit; Dictation andmeaning in Sanskrit. Total time 1.5 hours.

3) Grades 8-12. Total 20 students. a) Essaywriting, 250-350 words, in Malayalam;Dictation and meaning in Malayalam b) Essaywriting, 250-350 words, in English; Dictation andmeaning in English c) Essay writing, 250-350words, in Hindi; Dictation and meaning in Hindid) Essay writing in Sanskrit; Dictation andmeaning in Sanskrit. Total time 1.5 hours.

4) College students, all levels of college. Total20 students. a) Oral or elocution in Malayalam;Essay writing, 250-350 words, in Malayalam b)Essay writing, 250-350 words, in English c)Essay writing, 250-350 words, in Hindi d) Essaywriting, 250-350 words, in Sanskrit. Total time1.5 hours.

5) Adults. Total 10 adults. a) Narration of anincident in their life (in Malayalam), in aneloquent way, as a turning point in their life (6minutes per person). Total time 1.5 hours

6) Senior citizens. Total 10 senior citizens. a)Narration of life experience (in Malayalam), inan eloquent way (6 minutes per person). Totaltime 1.5 hours.

Items 5 and 6 are open to the public and willbe held at Nalinam Hall, Sopaanam and chaired byShri P. Aravindakshan, former student of Prof.Mundassery and Resident Editor, MalayalaManorama. Items 1-4 will be in different rooms inSopaanam under the direction of Advocate SeemaMenon, Convener.
