"The Palm Spring is the worst plant ever, because..."

Joshua and the Shimbly spent one afternoon visiting with the Shimbling. The Shimbly was about to shake a story.

"Hold on!" spun the Shimbling before the Shimbly could get on a roll. "What kind of a petal is that?"

"Is that going to happen to me when I grow old?"

It appeared to be an old scroll, rolled up with a feather tied to it.

"I wecentwy wetuwned the piwate fwag to its ship" wobbled the lopsided Shimbly. "But I needed something to fwy home, so I bowwowed that".

The Shimbly had no idea what the scroll contained or why there was a feather tied to it.

Follow this map to me treasure most dear,

If ye be stout of heart, and show no fear!

Although the piece of the map showing the location of the treasure was missing.

It was the treasure map of RootBeard the Pirate!

The Shimbling peeked out from behind the map. "You aren't thinking about going after this treasure, are you?" shimmied the Shimbling.

"Um...hello?"

Why are pirates great singers?

They can hit the high C's!

Using the feather as a petal, the Shimbly flew back to the

pirate ship with Joshua to retrieve the missing piece.

The map piece was easy to find, but it was in the grips of a pirate skeleton! The Shimbly decided to give moral support from outside.

"Don't worry, you got this!"

Joshua had to think happy thoughts to keep himself from getting too scared.

The missing piece showed where RootBeard's treasure was...Sassafras Mountain! "What are we waiting for?" shook the Shimbly. "X marks the spot!"

What has eight legs and eight eyes?

Eight pirates!

Joshua and the Shimbly raced to Sassafras Mountain, eager to reach the treasure!

As they flew towards the mountain Joshua noticed a bird's nest. In that nest he saw a pirate chest!

"Joshua, a little help?!"

Also in the nest was a colorful little bird. Joshua and the Shimbly decided it wouldn't mind if they took the chest. Why would a bird need a pirate chest full of gold?

How much did the pirate pay for his earrings?

A buccaneer!

Joshua and the Shimbly grabbed the chest and

hurried back to the Shimbling.

They didn't get very far before they heard an upset, fowl sound coming from the mountain. Apparently the little bird did mind if they took away the chest...

What does a Dyslexic Pirate Say?

RRAAAAAAAAAAA!

...and it could fly surprisingly fast!

In a flash, the bird swooped down and knocked the treasure chest out of their grip! It was so sudden that Joshua lost his petal and the Shimbly lost its feather!

Unable to fly, Joshua and the Shimbly plummeted towards a giant mud pit!

"Ith that biwd eating the tweathure?" wobbled the half-submerged Shimbly. It was not gold, but bird seed! Joshua realized that RootBeard's treasure was not kept in the chest.

"Hahaha!" jiggled the Shimbling. "All that for bird seed! Haha!" The Shimbling could not stop itself from trembling with elation.

"You two look rediculous!"

The end.

So Joshua helped the Shimbling stop.

"Ack!"
