JOURNAL TOPIC Were you ever accused of something you didn't do?
Write about a time when you were accused of doing something, what were you accused of
and why? If this has never happened to you, write about a time when you accused someone
of doing something to you but later learned that they were innocent. How did
you feel?

IMAGERY
Imagery-descriptive words and
phrases that re-create sensory
experiences for the reader. Imagery
usually appeals to one or more of the
five senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste,
and touch—to help the reader imagine
exactly what is being described.
EXAMPLES
Sight “Picture yourself in a boat on a
river/With tangerine trees and marmalade
skies.” –The Beatles
Hearing-The music coursed through us,
shaking our bodies as if it came from within us.

Smell “A scent of ripeness from over a

Taste- “I say feed me./She serves me red

ALLUSION
Allusion: A brief, usually
indirect reference to a person,
place, or event--real or
fictional (usually well-known).
