● Choose your editors the first week of school but also hold elections in class/club for pres., VP, secretary and treasurer
● Making your class a “club” allows fundraising so equipment and supplies can be purchased
● It also helps the class “bond”

new camera and other equipment including t-shirts for the whole class from funds raisedevery year

to write a good article:○ How to write a good lead○ How to write a good nut graf○ How to interview well-What’s the real story?
Everybody has a story, your job as a reporter is to FIND it.

● Have each student present their top three choices explaining techniques they used

Make sure they use this EVERY TIME they write a new article.

● The assignment: Groups of three to four, make a video with a theme. Video checklist worksheet included in your packet.

● New York Times in Education gives you online subscriptions for the year and emails you the daily paper
