Anglo-Saxon England is recognisedinternationally as the foremost regularpublication in its field. In fact it is theonly one which consistently embracesall the main aspects of study of Anglo-Saxon history and culture - linguistic,literary, textual, palaeographic,religious, intellectual, historical,archaeological and artistic - and whichpromotes the more unusual interests -in music or medicine or education, forexample. Especially it seeks to exploitthe advantages of a broadly basedinterdisciplinary approach. Eachvolume provides a systematicbibliography of all the workspublished in every branch of Anglo-Saxon studies during the precedingtwelve months. Contemporary European History is animportant journal which coversEastern and Western Europe, includingthe United Kingdom, from 1918 to thepresent. By combining a widegeographical compass with arelatively short time span, the journalachieves both range and depth in itscoverage. Journal of Navigation contains originalpapers on the science of navigationover land and sea and through air andspace, including a selection of paperspresented at meetings of the Instituteand other organisations associatedwith navigation. Papers cover everyaspect of navigation, from the highlytechnical to the descriptive andhistorical. Subjects include electronics,astronomy, mathematics, cartography,command and control, psychology andzoology, operational research, riskanalysis, theoretical physics, operationin hostile environments,instrumentation, ergonomics, financialplanning and law. The journal alsopublishes selected papers and reportsfrom the Institute’s Special InterestGroups, as well as book reviews.Contributions come from all parts ofthe world.
