Jr. Maccabi Tribune Irvine, CA. Sunday, May 20, 2013 - The crowd cheered as over 150 kids marched in the Jr. Maccabi Opening Ceremony. Kids from all over South California represented their JCCs including LA Westside bringing 32 kids, and San Diego brought 20 of theirathletic youth as well.. The crowd erupted when Team OC’s 100 kids proudly marched in front the fans and onlookers. “We were thrilled to host the first ever Southern California Jr. Maccabi Day at the Merage JCC of Orange County,” explained Sam Cohen, Director of JCC Maccabi Experience and Young Adults. “It was a fantastic day seeing the Jewish youth come together for a day of sport competition and camaraderie. We are so proud that 100 Orange County kids represented our community with dignity and true Maccabi spirit. I think we have started a great new tradition and I am sure that the Jr. Maccabi program will grow in the years to come!” Jr. Maccabi Tribune Journalists Matthew Andrew Ari Eliana Max JR. Judah’s CornerI am so proud of all my friends who did such a good job playing in today’s Jr. Maccabi Games. It was so fun to watch them!

From relays to a cannonball competition, the swimmers kept the competition wet with excitement.
