o North General Hospital (NGH) o Was designed to become a charity hospital to serve the needs of

approximately 2/3 of more than a million population of the northern half of the city of Manila.

o When Bureau of Health assumed supervision, it focused in training doctors, nurses and technical workers under the Department of Health. This eventually marked the beginning of a training hospital under the DOH.
