Report on “Beyond the Syllabus” workshop for dental interns in

Collaboration with KSDC, Bangalore

Venue: Sri Gowrishankara Auditorium, JSS Dental College and Hospital, JSS

AHER, Mysuru

The Department of Health System Management Studies, JSSAHER in association with

Karnataka State Dental Council organised 2 day workshop for dental intern graduates on August

5th and 6th 2019.

Dr. Shiv Sharan DCI member, Syndicate member – RGUHS was the Chief Guest for the

programme. Dr.Manjunatha.B Registrar, JSSAHER presided the function. Dr. Ranganath. V,

Dr (Col) M. Dayananda, Dr. Ravindra. S Principal , JSS DCH, Dr. Sanath Hegde, Member,

KSDC and Dr. Anil Kumar. G were the Guests of Honour and faculty were present and

workshop souvenir was released during the inaugural function.

Students from dental colleges across Mysuru and Coorg actively participated in the workshop

conducted. The workshop contained 10 sessions in two days covering topics such as strategic

planning, dental clinic planning, quality management and managing people, communication and

etiquettes, risk management, medication errors and medical emergencies, ethics and laws,

service quality and operations management, costs and innovations , health insurance and

healthcare trends, each session contained an interactive activity to encourage student

participation in learning and to provide hands on experience on managerial skills.

Students responded saying that the workshop was very helpful and gave them insights into

horning their innovation and entrepreneurial skills.

The Department of Health System Management Studies, JSSAHER in association with

Karnataka State Dental Council and RGUHS organised 2 day workshop for dental intern

graduates on September 13th and 14th 2019 at Navodaya Dental College, Raichur.

Dr. Santosh Hunsagi, Principal, Navodaya Dental College Presided the programme. Dr. Rakesh,

Professor, Dept. of Orthodontics coordinated the programme. Dr. Utkarsh, Senate Member,

RGUHS, was the chief guest for the programme. Dr. Praveen, Dept. of Pedodontics coordinated

the student interaction. Dr. H.K. Mamatha, Assistant professor and coordinator, DHSMS, along

with three faculty were resource person for the workshop. Workshop souvenir was released

during the inaugural function.
