Juan Diego Catholic High School Shoes/Socks/Belts Policy 2015-2016 - Amended 7/21/15 The Dean is the final authority on what is or is not in compliance with this policy. Any footwear questions should be directed to the Dean’s Office, prior to making any footwear decisions. Students are responsible to be familiar with the dress code. The Shoes/Socks/Belts Policy consists of the information below and the photographic examples of “Acceptable Styles” and those styles that “May Not Be Worn.” Shoes must be: Canvas or leather Low cut and flat-soled o No high top athletic styles, athletic shoes may not come above the anklebone. o Dress shoes (and only dress shoes) may come to the top of the ankle. May be Athletic style or dress style o Slip on shoes are permitted, but must be snug fitting. Shoes (including soles and shoelaces) may have any combination of the approved colors: white, black, navy blue, brown, gray or khaki. o No color shoes or elements (logos, leather stripes, tongues, perforations, etc.) other than those colors listed above are allowed. o Small brand tags, like Vans or Toms, are permitted. o No additional color may be on the shoe, including (but not limited to) logos, etc.. Logos on the shoe must match shoe color. DELETED o If there is a red streak, baby blue logo, green sole, neon tongue, etc., or any color other than the 6 colors permitted on the shoe, you will receive a UNIFORM VIOLATION.* o Shoes may not be checkered, plaid, animal print or include any pattern other than perforated designs in approved colors. NOT PERMITTED o Boots of any kind, at any time during the year o Fleece lined footwear o Slippers o Shoes with a ragged, torn or ripped look o Moccasins o Sandals o Open toes or open backs o High heels o Platform soles Shoelaces: Must be worn and be tied at all times in shoes that have eyelets. Laces may be a combination of only the approved colors: white, black, navy blue, brown, gray or khaki. Socks: Socks must be worn and they, and individual stockings, must match each other. Socks and legwear may be a combination of the approved colors: white, black, navy blue, brown, gray or khaki. Girls may wear ankle or opaque knee high socks or full stockings or tights. Print or patterned socks, stockings or tights may be worn, but socks and individual stockings may not come higher than just below the knee. Belts: SOLID colored (white, black, navy blue, brown, gray or khaki) belts that fit through belt loops, plain buckle, about the width of belt, must be worn with pants and shorts at all times. Belts may not be worn with skirts. *Consequences: 1 st – 5 th violations earn 1 hr. detention each. 6 th violation: IN SCHOOL SUSPENSION ($50 fine & work for Dean @school) No finals until fine is paid. 7 th violation: OUT OF SCHOOL SUSPENSION Students/parents must meet with the Dean after the 1-day suspension is served, in order to resume attending classes.

Juan Diego Catholic High School Shoes/Socks/Belts Policy 2015-2016 - Amended 7/21/15

The Dean is the final authority on what is or is not in compliance with this policy.
