Moses and the burning bush. A story of origin. It is part of the story of the Judaism.

Holy Writings and Core Beliefs The Torah is THE holy

writing for Judaism. It has their laws and the story of where they came from.

One core belief is that there is one God. One higher power.

Another Core Belief of Judaism is that Jesus Christ was a regular person. Not the son of God. Not a Prophet.

S ymbols and ObjectsS ymbols and Objects The Shofar is one object of Judaism. Its purpose is to wake people up and remind them of God and to remind them to ask for forgiveness of their sins.

The Star of David is a symbol of Judaism. It was named after King David. It symbolizes the connection between God and earth, one arrow points up at God and the other arrow points down on earth.

Another object of Judaism is the Tallit. The 613 strings represent the 613 laws of Judaism.

Judaism is the Western Wall. It was the first Place of Worship for Judaism. All Jews pray in that direction.

The Western Wall was originally the first temple of Judaism. It was giant!

The Place of Worship for Judaism is called a Synagogue or a Temple. It is where you pray to God, learn Hebrew, and learn about God.

Rites of Passage and Rituals• One Jewish Rite of

Passage is a bah/bar mitzvah. That is when a boy/girl becomes a man/woman.

• One ritual in Judaism is throwing bread into water. It symbolizes throwing away your sins.

• Another ritual is eating apple and honey on the Jewish new year. It symbolizes a sweet start of the New Year.
