For Judy, Barney Tupper, Weinter, Weinter Pfeiffer, Dooney and Judith
2Its January, 2015 and with 55 plus years of marriage on the time line past, the shadows on
our lives together grow long;
3
4
5With some reflective cognitive skills still remaining, I drift back on this beautiful lady with
whom I have taken the journey of life;
6Her days are filled with the mundane, though not to her, of those chores of house
maintenance that she does with joy
and fulfillment;
Daily sabbaticals from house duties find her with multiple study guides and a variety of Bible
translations soaking up Gods Word and having
speaks with Him;
7When I gaze upon her there is an aura about her that others may not see, but it is there so
clear to me, no doubt of divine origin;
8... her angelic voice
reaches and touches
my inner being
9Those things about her that are every day occurrences are no longer just accepted, but I
embrace them and they are dearer than
ever before;
Moments driving in one of our vehicles with a CD of hymns and she begins to sing softly
knowing the verses of so many of those glorious
old hymns and her angelic voice reaches and
touches my inner being;
10
Shes at her pinnacle in the kitchen stirring up ingredients to make a new batch of Pumpkin
bread for distributing to her widow flock;
She ministers to the widows of former rural pastors who have worked the vineyards of
mankind with little thought for worldly return;
11
12
I look at her with
wonderment and
with an intensity...
13
I no longer just gaze at her, I look at her with wonderment and with an intensity, knowing that
such earthly looks have a short shelf life at
this point;
She sustains a love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren using the
high tech communication tools and techniques
that only the young understand;
14
I listen to her laugh, her infectious laugh and wallow in the joy of her sharing humor and
exchanges with family and friends;
One of my favorite pastimes is to watch her walk down the driveway to the car when I have
gone to warm it up. If there were ever prettier
moments, they escape me. She is poetry
in motion;
15
She is poetry in motion
16
17
I have seen on others the ravages of time on the physical being and the mirror speaks to me
of that, but somehow, God has graced her with
a continuing physical beauty;
As evening approaches each day, I anticipate and look forward to nestling under the covers
knowing that she will wrap herself about me
she is the consummate cuddle bug;
18
I know that I
will have drawn
from each moment
all that I could
from loving her
and being in her
presence.
19
When that moment one of us is called to our eternal home, I know that I will have drawn from
each moment all that I could from loving her and
being in her presence. There will be no regrets,
and we will see one another later, perhaps not
as husband and wife, but in the presence of our
God and Creator. Thank you my heavenly God
and Father for allowing me this lifetime with
such a wonderful soulmate!
