2013 30” x 36” CHALK PASTEL ON PAPER

LEOPARD

This depiction of a leopard’s face responds to a class assignment to draw a very detailed animal head. To highlight the complexity of the leopard’s fur, I added color to a desaturated reference image. I included this piece because it is the biggest solo work I have created.

This mural, found in downtown Chicago, was collaboratively spray-painted with 4 other students while studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Our teachers challenged us to design a large-scale mural with limited colors and geometric shapes. I included this piece because it is the largest and first public art piece I have ever created. It shows my ability to adapt to new mediums and overcome challenges that the new mediums presented me with. This piece also demonstrates my ability to work collaboratively.
