Tips, hints and linksHint by Triglav National Park: The Šobec wetland
The confluence of both ‘alpine’ rivers – the SavaDolinka and the Sava Bohinjka – is well-known as thesite of a popular campsite. With its favourable andsecluded location and the abundance of waterfeatures, Šobec is a preferred habitat of many smallanimals.
Squirrels can be seen chasing each other among pinetrees, and the riparian area is home to amphibians andthe non-venomous grass snake. Dragonflies areindicators of clean water. Šobec is also a paradise forbirders, as swans, grebes, kingfishers, white-throateddippers, tits and many other bird species can bespotted here throughout the year. A perfect sport tolisten to the birdsong in the chill of the river and theshadow of high trees.
