How can parents feel more confident when advocating for their child?
One of the most important things that families can do to support their child’s healthy development and school readiness is to be their advocate. Families are experts on their child, but they may
not always feel comfortable asking questions of doctors, teachers, or other community leaders. A resource booklet called “Be Your Child’s Champion” is available to provide families with scenarios, tips and worksheets to help them feel more confident when speaking up for their child’s best interests. This booklet, along with many other resources to support early learning and child development, are available on the Pennsylvania’s Promise for Children website.
