From the Desk of the Pastor Dear brothers and sisters, Grace and Peace of Jesus Christ be with you all. First of all, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for the kindness and hospitality you have shown to me, Fr. Miguel Ceja, and to Fr. Geoffrey on this our first week of ministry with you. We can tell right away that this is a won-derful Christian community. We look forward to serve with you in the establishing the Kingdom of God in this little acre of God’s world. Let me now share a brief reflection on our Sunday’s Gospel reading.
God is speaking to you right now! "Happy are your eyes because they see, your ears because they
hear" Matthew 13:16 In today's Gospel Lesson -- the "Parable of the Sower" -- Jesus
reminds us that seed sown in good ground will be more productive than seed sown in barren ground, or ground laced with thistle and weeds.
Jesus likens the seed to the Word of God, and the ground in which it is sown to the people to whom the Word is addressed. We discover that God, in a sense, sows indiscriminately. His Message is not planted in a single corner of the earth or in a particular society on earth. All God's children -- that means all people, everywhere -- are constantly being addressed by God's Word, in one way or another. But the Word will flower and bear fruit only on the good ground. The seed can generate new life only on soil that is properly conditioned to receive it. Jesus' immediate audience understood this good ground to be the heart and soul of any serious person whose true feeling about God was expressed in morning and evening prayers (called the "Shema"). The Shema began with these words: Listen, Israel! Yahweh, our God, is the one Yahweh. You shall love Yahweh, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength. That's where it all began with the serious Jew in Jesus' time. And that's where it all begins with us, in our time. Receive God’s many blessings, Fr. Miguel Ceja Pastor/Administrator

Del Escritorio del Párroco Queridos hermanos y hermanas, la Gracia y la Paz de Jesucristo este con cada uno de ustedes. Primero que nada, deseo expresar mi gratitud por el recibimiento caluroso que nos han ofrecido al Padre Geoffrey y a su servidor, Padre Miguel Ceja. Es evidente que esta es una gran comunidad Cristiana y estamos felices de estar con ustedes. Estamos dispuestos a caminar junto con ustedes en esta jornada en colaboración por establecer el Reino de Dios, aquí donde Él nos ha colocado. Permítanme ahora ofrecerles una breve reflexión del Evangelio del domingo.
¡Dios Nos Habla Hoy! “Dichosos ustedes, porque sus ojos ven y sus oídos
oyen” (Mateo 13:16). En el Evangelio de hoy tenemos la Parábola del Sembrador. En ella Jesús nos recuerda que la semilla sembrada en tierra fértil será más
productiva que aquella que es sembrada a lo largo del camino, en terreno pedregoso o entre espinos. Jesús compara la semilla con la Palabra de Dios y los diferentes tipos de suelos a los que escuchan la Palabra. En ella descubrimos que Dios siembra de manera indiscriminada. Su mensaje no es sembrado en tan solo una remota esquina de la tierra o para solo un grupo de personas en particular. La Palabra de Dios es dirigida a toda criatura de Dios, por lo tanto, a toda persona, de cualquier rincón del mundo. Pero esta Palabra solo dará fruto en aquella que es fértil, en aquella que está dispuesta a recibirla. Los oyentes originales de Jesús entendían que la tierra fértil es el corazón y el alma de toda persona genuina que es capaz de exclamar: “Amare al Señor mi Dios con todo mi corazón, con toda mi alma, con todas mis fuerzas.” Con esta actitud es como se comienza todo en la vida del cristiano verdadero. vãi lời Ngài khắp nơi, với mọi hạng người, với mọi hoàn cảnh. Chúng ta đáp lại Lời Chúa như thế nào? Chúng ta có cần Chúa mở mắt chúng ta qua một biến cố đau thương như biến cố đã xảy ra với anh Colin hay không? Có cần Thiên Chúa thiêu đốt tất cả những gì chúng ta đang mù quáng bám víu vào như là giá trị duy nhất của đời mình, để giúp chúng ta trở về với Lời Chúa và sống thực hành Lời Chúa hay không? Bằng cách nào đó không thể nói là tự nhiên tốt được. Tâm hồn con ngừoi cũng thế, tự nó không phải tự nhiên tốt, nhưng cần được ân sủng Chúa thánh hóa, thanh luyện mới có thể trở nên tốt, và mỗi người chúng ta cần cộng tác với ơn Chúa để tâm hồn chúng ta được trở nên mảnh đất tốt và trổ sinh nhiều hóa trái. Thiên Chúa rất thường đến viếng thăm chúng ta qua các biến cố lớn nhỏ, vui buồn, nhưng rất nhiều khi hay là hầu hết nhiều khi, hầu hết mỗi lần Chúa đến thăm để nói với chúng ta một điều gì đó, mạc khải cho chúng ta một điều gì đó thì chúng ta lại vắng mặt, chúng ta lại lo ra. Nhiều lần chúng ta được tiếp xúc với Lời Chúa nhưng chúng ta lại lơ là không màng chi đến Lời Chúa nữa. Ước chi hôm nay, trong giây phút này, chúng ta hãy trở về ngồi lại nơi căn nhà tâm hồn của chúng ta trong thinh lặng để kiểm điểm lại những gì mình đã làm hư hỏng, để được kín múc lấy sức mạnh của Chúa mà giúp ta canh tân trong cuộc sống. Lạy Chúa, xin giúp chúng con hồi tâm trở về, lắng nghe Lời Chúa và sống thực hành Lời Chúa, xin Chúa giúp con biết cộng tác với ơn Chúa, để mảnh đất tâm hồn chúng con trở nên mảnh đất tốt, để chúng con luôn biết đón nhận Lời Chúa và để cho Lời Chúa trổ sinh hoa trái trong tâm hồn chúng con mỗi ngày một hơn. CẦU NGUYỆN VÀ THĂM BỆNH NHÂN Xin Cộng Đoàn cầu nguyện cho những người già, bệnh trong cộng đoàn. Nguyện xin Thiên Chúa và Đức Mẹ nâng đỡ những người ấỵ. Đồng thời xin thân nhân thông báo cho HĐMV để tiện việc đề cử người thăm viếng.
Từ văn phòng Cha xứ Thưa quý ông bà anh chị em, Nguyện ân sủng và bình an của Chúa Giêsu ở cùng anh chị em. Trước hết, tôi xin mượn cơ hội này cám ơn lòng ưu ái và quý mến của anh chị em đối với tôi, Cha Miguel Ceja và Cha Geoffrey trong tuần lễ đầu mục vụ của chúng tôi. Chúng tôi có thể nói ngay, đây là một cộng đoàn Kitô hữu tuyệt vời. Chúng tôi mong phục vụ anh chi em xây dựng Nước Chúa trong khu vực nhỏ bé của Nước Trời. Xin cho tôi chia sẻ Lời Chúa trong Chúa Nhật này: "Mắt anh em thật có phúc vì được thấy, tai anh em thật có phúc vì được nghe" (Mt 13:16) Phúc âm hôm nay nói về dụ ngôn người gieo giống. Chúa Giêsu cho chúng ta thấy, nếu hạt giống rơi vào đất tốt, nó sẽ sinh hoa kết trái nhiều hơn hạt giống rơi vào đất cằn cỗi hay đầy cỏ dại. Lời Chúa là hạt giống và đất nơi gieo giống là tâm hồn những ai lắng nghe Lời Chúa rao giảng. Chúng ta nhận ra Lời Chúa ở bất cứ đâu. Lời Chúa không chỉ gieo ở một góc trời hay ở một xã hội đặc thù. Bằng cách này hay cách khác, tất cả con cái Chúa ở mọi nơi đều được nghe Lời Chúa. Nhưng Lời Chúa sinh hoa kết trái ở vùng đất tốt. Hạt giống chỉ này mầm nơi đất tốt. Người nghe Lời Chúa được hiểu như đất tốt là trái tim và tâm hồn mỗi người đón nhận Lời Chúa cách chân thành cảm nghiệm được Lời Chúa trong kinh sáng và kinh chiều (Shema). Kinh nguyện Shema bắt đầu bằng những lời này: Hỡi con cái nhà Israel hảy lắng nghe Giavê, Chúa chúng ta chỉ là một Giavê Ngươi sẽ yêu mến Giavê hết cả xác hồn Bàng hết sức ngươi. Đó là lời kinh thời Chúa Giêsu và cũng là lời kinh của chúng ta. Xin Chúa ban tràn đầy ơn lành trên anh chị em. Cha xứ Miguel Ceja
