Upcoming Events for Youth

Pastor’s Corner Summer is here! As we

travel and spend time with

family and friends, I want to

remind you of two items

that you will want to know.

Our sanctuary renovation

project continues! As you

read this, we are wrapping

up the light renovation and

will be back in the

Sanctuary for worship on

Sunday, July 14. I am

looking forward to that

service, where we will

celebrate this next phase in

the improvements for our

worship space. Please

consider giving an extra

financial gift on that Sunday

to celebrate our next step.

Small gifts can add up!

Vacation Bible School is

upon us. This newsletter

has all the details and

information, but I want to

encourage you to get the

word out and invite folks to

attend. This is a highlight

for our church, and I am

really looking forward to it.

See you Sunday!

-Derik

The youth are still

col lect ing i tems for

Lynchburg Foster Care.

The collection bin is

located in the youth room.

Thank you to those who

have already donated and

continue to give!

On Wednesday, July 3 the

youth will not be meeting

in honor of 4th of July.

On Wednesday, August 21

at 6:30pm, there will be a

potluck family meal with

the youth in the Fellowship

Hall. Then, on Wednesday

August 28 at 6:30pm, the

youth will lead an outdoor

Experiencing Worship

Sunday, June 23rd was our first Summer Worship Experience in the Fellowship Hall. I heard

so many comments about the music, and I’m always happy to hear when the music is

meaningful to worship. Sometimes a new place to experience worship gives us new eyes and

ears to feel the Spirit move. (And for some...our feet to tap!)

I just started a new book called Perspectives on Worship, a devotional book written by 26

writers, singers, and worship leaders. The introduction defines worship as “the experience of

us relating (rightly) with God.” Especially during this season, I hope you experience “LIFE,

lived fully in the awareness of God, lived with God as much as for Him.”

I am thankful that on Sundays, we can live that experience together as God’s children!

Soli Deo Gloria! Glory to God alone!

-Susie

To the Women on Mission,

I want to thank you all for the very nice

goodie bag I received last week along

with a lovely visit. The bag had very nice

gifts that we use all the time. I appreciate

the fact that you still remember me even

though I have been absent from church a

long time. I am so proud to be a

member for more than 50 years. It has

been a gratifying experience. Thank you

all for taking care of the older

members. We do have the best leader

for our flock. Thanks to Derik for all

that he does.

Love to you all,
