GOLD STAR TEEN
SAILING ADVENTURE!
WHAT IS IT? These co-ed Gold Star Teen Sailing Ad-
ventures provide a fun, safe and adven-
turesome week-long sailing experiences.
It’s open to all surviving teens ages 14-19
of military personnel who have given
their lives in defense of our freedoms.
We provide a sailing adventure which
promotes team building, leadership, char-
acter development and healing, develop-
ing of enduring friendships.
BASIC SAILING CERTIFICATES!
With professional instruction on board,
teens have an opportunity to earn a basic
Sailing Certificate, which opens doors to
further opportunities and adventures!
YOU CAN EXPERIENCE THESE
SAILING ADVENTURES!
While living aboard beautiful sailboats of vari-
ous sizes, GST’s learn sailing instruction and
seamanship skills.
Including!
Learning to play polo on horseback
Afternoon sails on smaller sailboats
Rappelling Tower & M.R.E.’s
Swimming on beautiful beaches
Clambakes, Campfires and More!
You’ll visit to historic Newport, Fort Adams,
land based recreational activities, as well as
visits to various military installations for
Leadership, Friendship, Recreation & Hands
on Fun!
WHERE DO WE SAIL?
All sailing is on Rhode Island’s beautiful, safe,
Narragansett Bay and surrounding waters visit-
ing exciting anchorages and beaches. Staff
members are credentialed adult volunteers
with extensive sailing, leadership, military and
counseling experience. All sailboats are oper-
ated by S.A.L.T.Y.’s and skippered by
U.S.C.G. Licensed Captains.
