Residents must reserve time to use the fitness facility and the pool in advance and follow all stated health and safety protocols while using the centres. This includes wearing a mask or face covering, keeping a distance of two metres from others not in your household, and washing your hands frequently. Residents can reserve a date and time to use the fitness centre or pool at play.barrie.ca. An interim drop-in fee of $4/person will apply to pool and fitness activities. A family swim rate is also available. Until recreational facilities are fully reopened, all recreational memberships will be suspended without charge. The East Bayfield Community Centre is scheduled to reopen after September 8, 2020. Playgrounds Playground structures at City parks are gradually reopening. It is planned that all playgrounds will be open by Friday, July 31. There are safety inspections that need to be completed before they can open, so it will be a phased approach. We ask that residents only use the structures that are marked as 'open' and continue to stay off the areas that are still closed/taped off. Playground equipment will not be sanitized and parents are encouraged to wash their children’s hands and use hand sanitizer after play. In-Person Services Available at City Hall by Appointment Only Service Barrie, the City's customer service centre located on the first floor of City Hall (70 Collier Street), is open to provide in-person services to the public by appointment only. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments must be booked in advance by calling Service Barrie at 705-726-4242. Please call from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday to book your appointment. CITY HALL ACCESS Access to City Hall is via the Worsley Street entrance off the parking lot. Please note that when you enter into a public indoor space, you are required to wear a face covering. RESIDENT AND NON-RESIDENT WATERFRONT PARKING PASSES In addition to City Hall, the Barrie Transit Terminal, located at 24 Maple Avenue, sells both resident and non-resident waterfront parking passes during the terminal's operating hours. The terminal is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., no appointment is needed. For residents requesting their free resident waterfront parking pass, please contact Service Barrie by calling 705-726-4242 to make an appointment to pick up a pass. Please do not make an appointment with Service Barrie or visit the Transit terminal if you are sick or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
