2015 is the 40th Anniversary of Telford House! Telford House provides a „home away from home‟ for Leduc and district Seniors. In the early part of 1970 the Leduc Town Council became interested in the idea of developing a drop-in centre for the adults 65+ residing in the Community. On February 19, 1974 all citizens of Leduc who were 60+ years were invited to a public meeting in the Masonic Hall to form an organization to design, build and operate Telford House, a Senior Citizen‟s Drop-In Centre.
The official opening of Telford House was held on Sunday September 28th, 1975 at 12:00 pm - presided over by then Mayor Lede.
Come to Telford House and celebrate the Telford House 40th Anniversary! WHEN: Saturday August 29th, 2015 Cocktails: 5:00 pm Supper: 6:00 pm Entertainment: 7:00 pm - OLD UGLY Tickets: $22.00 per person (Ticket sales END August 14/15). For more information call Diane at: 780-986-6160.

The CRA Warns: BEWARE OF NEW TELEPHONE SCAMS
The Canada Revenue Agency has noted an increase in the number of telephone scams
where the caller claims to be from the CRA but in fact is NOT. These callers say that taxes
are owed and request immediate payment by a credit card, or ask victims to purchase a
prepaid credit card and then call back immediately with the information of this card. The
taxpayer is often threatened with court charges or jail. Note the CRA never:
Requests prepaid credit cards;
Asks for information about your passport, health card or driver‟s license;
Shares your taxpayer‟s information with another person unless authorized to do so by you;
Leaves personal information on your answering machine
The CRA has strong practices to protect the confidentiality of taxpayer information. If you have any doubt about a
call claiming to be from the CRA, call the CRA at 1-800-959-8281 for verification before giving out any information.
No matter what the forecast live like it is spring.

"As you exit the plane, please make sure to gather all of your belongings. Anything left behind will be distributed evenly among the flight attendants. Please do not leave children or spouses."
Murphy and his wife went for a stroll in the park. They sit down on a bench to rest for a while. Soon they overhear voices coming from a secluded spot nearby. Mrs. Murphy realizes that a young man is about to propose. Not wanting to be eavesdropping during such an intimate moment, she gently nudges her husband and whispers, "Whistle, to let that young couple know that someone can hear them." To which Murphy replies, "Whistle? Why should I whistle? Nobody whistled to warn me!" A Scotsman, planning a trip to the Holy Land, was aghast when he found it would cost fifty dollars an hour to rent a boat on the Sea of Galilee. "Hoot mon," he said, "in Scotland it wouldna ha been more than $5." "That might be true," said the travel agent, "but you have to take into account that the Sea of Galilee is water on which our Lord Himself walked." "Well, at $50 an hour for a boat," said the Scotsman, "it's no wonder He walked." While walking in the woods a man saw a young fairy who had fallen into the river. He bravely dived in to rescue her. In gratitude the fairy granted him 3 wishes. He wished for a huge pile of gold, and „poof‟ there is was. He then wished for a huge palace, and again „poof‟ there it was. Finally he wished he could be irresistible to all women. There was a blinding flash, a mighty roar, and „poof‟ - he turned into a box of chocolates. The teacher was discussing different jobs held by the parents of his students. She asked Little Johnny what his father did. “He‟s a magician!” said Johnny. “Really what is his best trick?” asked the teacher. “He saws people in half.” “Wonderful!” exclaimed the teacher. “Do you have any bothers and sisters?” “Yes ma‟am. I have a half brother and 2 half sisters.”

Haunting Questions 1. How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered? 2. How is it that a man walked on the moon (1969) before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on
luggage (1970)? 3. Why is it that people say they „slept like a baby‟ when babies seem to wake up every 2 hours? 4. If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing? 5. Why is it you are „in‟ a movie, but your are „on‟ TV? 6. Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground? 7. Why is „bra‟ singular and „panties‟ plural? 8. Why do toasters have a setting that burns toast so black that no decent human being could eat it? 9. If a professor on Gilligan‟s Island could make a radio out of a coconut, why couldn‟t he fix the hole in the boat? 10. Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They are both dogs! 11. Why does a dog get upset when you blow in his face, but when you take him for a car ride he sticks his head
outside the window? 12. Why do we press harder and harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are going dead? 13. Why do banks charge a fee for „insufficient funds‟ when they know there is not enough money? 14. How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures? 15. Why do people believe you if you say that there are 4 billion stars, but yet check when you say the paint is wet? 16. Why didn‟t Tarzan have a beard? 17. Why did Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
