Interdisciplinary Special Lecture

From the Editor’s desk…

With the beginning of a new session, a new zeal and enthusiasm

begins in all the members of the College – be it staff or the

students.

The Foundation Day of the College was celebrated with the

deliberation on the topic ‘March Towards Future: Whither Indian

Higher Education’.

To commemorate the 70 years of Independence, Various

activities related to patriotism were organized on Azadi 70 Yaad

Karo Qurbani

To follow the programme of Government of India Swachh Bharat

Abhiyan, numerous activities were held. Com Edu Fest was based

on the theme Go Green,

An Add on Certificate Course on Functional English and

Translation Proficiency has been started.

Various National and International days were celebrated with the

active participation of students, such as World Ozone Day,

National Education Day and Constitution Day.

Digital Literacy Campaign VISAKA of the Government started

with a mission of providing awareness for cashless payment.

The Editorial Board has made sincere efforts to cover all the

activities held during July to December 2016 in this volume, Any

omission is regretted.

March Towards Future: Whither Indian Higher Education An Interdisciplinary Special Lecture cum workshop was organized on 23rd September

2016 the Foundation Day of college, by Internal Quality Assurance Cell & Dept. of

Education. The topic of the Special Lecture was March Towards Future: Whither

Indian Higher Education. The Resource Person was Prof. O.P. Yadav, Former V.C.

Rohilkhand University, Bareilly.

The lecture was followed by discussion on the future potentials of education

by the participants consisting of the faculty members of the college and IQAC

Co-ordinators of various Constituent Colleges, ie. CMP, Hamidia, and Arya Kanya

Degree College.

A questionnaire containing questions regarding the future prospects of

higher education was distributed and submitted by the participants duly filled.

Certificate of participation was distributed.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

An Interdisciplinary Special Lecture cum workshop was organized on 29th November

to follow the mission of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by the Government of India. The

Departments of the College took initiative to make the students aware about the

policies of the government.

Various programmes and competitions were organized

On this occasion the Resource Person Prof. Ashish Saxena, Head, Dept. of Sociology,

AU and Shri Badal Chaterjee, Former Commissioner, Allahabad Division addressed

the students on the topic “Cleanliness is the Responsibility of the Citizens or the

Administration”

The lecture was followed by Debate Competition and display of Posters and Slogans

made by the students.

The Resource Persons adjudged the Posters and Slogans prepared by the students.

Azadi 70- Yaad Karo Qurbani

(Freedom Fortnight)

Aug. 09- 23, 2016

The Freedom Fortnight was celebrated to commemorate 70 years of India’s

independence- Azadi 70- Yaad Karo Qurbani from August 9 to 23, 2016.

On this Occasion various programmes and Competitions were organized as

per the guidance of the UGC. On August 17th, Colonel Suneel Chaturvedi ,

Defence Force, addressed the students focusing on the contributions of freedom

fighters during 1857 to 1947. He motivated the students to serve the nation with

devotion and enthusiasm and also develop skill for the same.

The students and the faculty members visited “Chandra Shekhar Azad Park”

a land mark of freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad. The faculty members told

about the contribution of Azad in the freedom struggle and paid tribute to the

martyr of the nation.

A mass recitation of the National Anthem by all students and staff in the

institution was organized on 23 August at 11 AM.

The students of the College participated in different competitions with great

enthusiasm and fervour.

A 5 days Com Edu Fest on the theme GO GREEN was organised from 7thto 11th
